I'm not a big recruiting expert so I thought I'd ask. Granted, Ohio's probably has most of its 2016 class already committed, but I was wondering-will the Ohio coaching staff hit the recruiting trail hard between now and the bowl game, and is there any recruiting news we should expect? Just wondering.

The class is mostly full, but every year they seem to surprise us with some late additions. I presume this year will be the same, so I doubt they are done recruiting. Don't, however, look for anyone here to know exactly what to expect. At this point we have little choice but to wait and see what happens.

Since the Bowl game will likely be before Christmas, I think there will be limited recruiting activity. Maybe they'll have a JUCO or two who are December grads make visits. Usually, they'll use every weekend in January for official visits for those who have already committed, those who they're trying to get to yes and preferred walk-on candidates.

Do all the verbally committed recruits get invited on official visits?

There is too much of a reliance on transfers at TE. It would be nice to sign a few true fresh TE's with potential to be in the program 5 years.

Which commits can we take from Toledo, now that their HC is headed for Iowa State?

I'm assuming there has been some down time since Tuesday and may be for a while longer until Ohio officially accepts a bowl bid, which probably won't be for another week. I'm sure some of that time is spent on recruiting in some capacity.

Answering my own question, the four guys below are current Toledo commits who Ohio offered.

How many commits does a school usually lose when they turn over their staff? Seems like it used to be around half. Could be less now that coaches change so often.

BG's coach may be gone, too. Schools do lose a few recruits when the coach leaves, sometimes. The quicker they are able to announce a replacement, the better chance that they have to keep the recruits.

It probably helps to hire from within as well.

Per Twitter, Ohio was at Fairfield HS today to talk about 2017 and 2018 prospects.

By now every coach in the state must have a picture in his office of himself shaking hands with coach Solich. No doubt such pictures are still up all over Nebraska and Solich's assigned recruiting territories.

Embarrassing sycophancy.
Embarrassing personal vendetta.
