Already graduated from UM and the Word is he is trying to get into the Sports Admin program and interviewed with several of them Friday . He would have one year with us. He is bigger than ANY of our Offensive Linemen. Fingers crossed that they help out the Football program and actually admit the young man. Rumor is That academic dept is fairly biased against football players due to past issues with student/athletes.

Harbaugh may turn into our biggest asset. After Heitzman last year, maybe we collect all the annual Michigan cast-offs. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world honestly.

The first guy I would put on scholarship, this guy I would not. He has not played at Michigan and will not start at Ohio. I do like the fact that he went to Mentor, but not worth a scholly.

Strobel apparently worked at TE a little bit.

allen, clearly you have not seen his rivals page. 4 stars, about 20 offers. Click the link. You and Casper71 will be drooling. It is all about the stars you know. Surely you will reconsider!

Heitzman had 2 catches his last year at Michigan. He had 8 tackles the year before as a defensive end. It's not like he did much for them before he came to Ohio and contributed nicely.

If out TE was not injured, he would have barely played. You should not pick a grad trans over a four year scholly, unless it is a significant improvement to the team.

Well, vs Akron, a 14-12 win, there was that Heitzman TD. Then vs NIU, a 26-21 win, his TD was nice to have too. Oh, and since there was that injury to Mangen who was expected to improve on his 147 yards of 2014, it was nice to have Heitzman's 297 and 3 TDs. Significant improvement, yes?

Heitzman was a great pick up, kudos to the staff for that one. I am just saying we should not just take anybody, we want someone that is worth passing over a four year player, not just a Michigan guy. The kid has to be hungry and want to go to the next level or he is just using us for the scholly.

As a general rule I have no problem with the idea of 5th year Seniors, now and then. When you recruit a four year player, on average they play for 2 of those years. If you choose your fifth year Seniors wisely, they fill a need you have, and they play the one year they are on the roster, so you get 100% use out of their time. The same can hold true for JUCOs, where they may play both years they are on the roster, as Layton did.

The trick, however, is to choose wisely and find ones that actually fill a need, and who can help you. Ohio has taken some JUCOs in years past that worked out great, and others than barely, if ever, played.

These Grad guys can play, JUCO's are often gambles. The 5th year guy has proven there worth v DI competition.

I totally agree. The coaches have film of these guys playing against Big Ten competition, and have a very good idea what they can and can't do against top notch competition. For a JUCO you get film of them playing against competition without a very good way of knowing just how good that competition is, either, which makes them much more of a gamble.

It also can't hurt that these guys will come in with a chip on their shoulder. It's not nice to have your scholarship yanked, and you're going to want to come out and prove it was a mistake.

I can't believe Bcat2 actually wants a 4-star guy:) That is refreshing:):)

But if he doesn't work out I am sure I will hear that stars don't mean squat:):):)

Please note: the above is sarcasm. I hope the guy is a great contributor/addition!
