I'm assuming we have him slotted at DT, but man those trap blocks from his OG position are beautiful...

This was a quiet recruit. Nothing since offer in May. Thanks Minnesota.

Boom. Another 3* and another recruit where we beat out the P5.

This defense is going to be scary.

Twitter post seems to suggest this is an OL recruit.

Either OL or DL works for me, but how is this possible? We've been assured that Ohio can never beat Fleck for recruits, and now Fleck has the additional advantage of being at a P5 school.

Fleck must not think he can cut it in the Big Ten. Last I checked Fleck did win a MACC so obviously he knows how to evaluate talent if he's able to go from 1 win to 13 in under 4 years and find a first round pick in the NFL at Wide Receiver......

Fleck has clearly demonstrated that he has an ability to evaluate and attract talent. Don't forget, that besides his work at WMU, it was his recruiting that took NIU to the top of the MAC in 2011-2014. Nevertheless, what does that have to do with anything? Fleck didn't pull Kitrell's scholarship offer. Rather, apparently Kitrell didn't feel comfortable with Fleck, and he, along with a four others decommitted after Fleck was hired.

There is no doubt that a lot of people love Fleck. There is also no doubt that he rubs some people the wrong way. That was my point.

Definitely agree that Fleck can rub folks the wrong way. Just my thing was they probably had a look at his medical record with the previous torn ACL and were worried about a repeat blowout. Can't blame them. Plus decommitment came 6 days after hiring, which means Fleck must have pushed him out nicely.

We'll probably never know for sure what happened. It's also possible that it was a delayed reaction to the whole environment at Minnesota that led to the coaching change in the first place.

In the immediate aftermath of the Fleck hiring, several Minnesota players expressed displeasure over the hire. I don't know if Kitrell was one of them. Most of the subsequent reaction from U of M players was very positive. Knowing something about the U of M culture, it'll take a little time for some in the fan base to adjust, but as they say winning can trump a lot of considerations in college football.

The point is that none of us knows exactly what happens. I think it's a stretch for buckeye to conclude that "Fleck pushed him out". The only information we have is that Kitrell decomitted, and there is no evidence at all that he couldn't have remained a Minnesota commit and signed with Minnesota if he wanted to.

Now, if buckeye wants to take the approach that Mike Riley at Nebraska is a widely respected judge of talent, and that he chose not to offer him, that is certainly true. Yet, Nebraska also passed on players like Sayles, Keller, Lueck, and Lechner, all of whom were good players for Ohio.

I'm pleased to have Kitrell on board.

The kid committed to Ohio. Therefore I like him and will believe his intentions over some boat rowing a-hole in Minnesota. 🚣🏻‍♀️🚣🏻‍♀️🚣🏻‍♀️

Yes, Ted, it does. If you look at https://twitter.com/57coletrain
there are several tweets that make it clear that he's also a Bobcat.

According to his bio on OhioBobcats.com, his father Barry played fullback for Coach Solich at Nebraska.
