Looked back at 247Sports and I think they've gone through and actually tried rating all class of 2017 players. They're giving two sets of rankings now too if you look closely. The composite ranking and their own ranking. The composite uses the data from Rivals, Scout, and ESPN and for some reason is the one they publicize the most even though it's clearly unreliable in the latter half of the rankings due to the other sources mentioned.
So now that all players have been evaluated...
Composite Ranking MAC #7 - 7 of 22 rated 3 Stars - #98 in FBS
247Sports Ranking MAC #3 - 10 of 22 rated 3 Stars - #87 in FBS
The 11 spot differential between the two rankings is the 3rd largest positive difference in FBS. Other notables...Kansas with a 15 spot drop back to #83. Herd with a 10 spot drop back to #93.
They still have Haas & Newton factored in to our score although both are actually weighing down our average score slightly but probably help our overall score slightly. Alvin Floyd is listed as a DT so that's obviously a mistake and may be negatively effecting his rating (multiple P5 offers).
Obviously none of this really means anything, was just glad to see after a closer look the "experts" increased the class rating. Draw your own conclusions.
