His stats and story remind me tremendously of Rourke. Lane played at a tiny school in Georgia, while Rourke played at a tiny school in Alabama. Here are their stats their final year:
Lane 199-319 (62.4%) 3740 yards 56 TDs, 2 Interceptions, efficiency 217, undefeated state champions
Rourke 183-244 (75%) 3768 yards, 59 TDs, 3 Interceptions, efficiency 282, undefeated state champions

Lane had no offers from FBS schools until April. Rourke had no offers from FBS schools at all, so he went to Fort Scott for a year, before getting an offer from Ohio and Akron.
