Scout reports a verbal. Ohio taps into the Lake Erie League again.  He's 6'5", 215, and also had offers from Akron and WMU, and Albany. Here is his Hudl.

He looks like he's got a excellent speed, and very good field awareness. He'll need to add some weight and strength, so I'd expect a redshirt year ahead.

I'm assuming this is the same school as the other Ohio recruit from Bedford. Keep tapping that pipeline.

Given he will have the next two years to get bigger stronger & faster, he should be fine. I am always curious about their birthdays and if they are older or younger in their high school senior class.

At 215 I bet he ends up at OLB

I had the same thought....although he looks to be a natural pass rusher that fits the attacking scheme pretty well at the DE. If he can bulk up to 230-240 his senior year I think he'll stay at DE. It's still a little lean for DL, but I remember watching Jadaveon Clowney on ESPN when he was in high school and thinking the same thing. DE worked out pretty well for him.

At 6'5", he' ll get to 240 pretty soon with a lot of work

I'm thinking that by his Senior year he could be up to 250-260, and if he keeps his speed, could be a prospect for the next level.

Keep working these former Ohio players who are now head coaches at high school programs across the state. Hopefully this staff has put a feeling out that these guys like Sean Williams and Andre Parker have an open door in Athens and are valued.

I do not see him moving to OLB for us. It is very reasonable to expect a HS kid to gain weight when he gets on the college weight program. I think this kid stays at DE and becomes a pass-rush specialist for us a la Basham.

This young man resembles Neil Smith and Kony Ealy when they were younger. Smith was only 210 coming out of high school.

Since he was a redshirt candidate, a year at CC is not a bad thing....as long as we (and his HS coach) stay in his ear.

However, add him to the 2016 class along with the 4 greyshirts and that recruiting class gets smaller and smaller.

Went to JUCO and has committed to Kansas for 2018. Chose Kansas over offers from Iowa State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, UCF, Maryland, Toledo and Alabama A&M.

Maybe if we ran a 3-4 defense. But we run a 4-3, so, doubtful.
