I apologize if someone has posted this elsewhere. I rarely read the recruiting thread, but perused it and did not find any info on Brown.

I live in West Virginia and stumbled upon news of this kid's committment to Ohio. I wanted to come here to find more info on him, but did not, so I went and found some of my own info. Here it is.

Brown plays for Martinsburg HS, the two-time Class AAA state champs in WV. Class AAA is the big-school conference in WV, like D-I in Ohio. In The Charleston Daily Mail's preseason football tab released July 27, Brown was listed 6-3, 185 and tabbed to the All-State Team. The tab listed Brown as Class AAA's leading returning receiver. Brown finished 2011 with 56 catches for 837 receiving yards, for an average of 15 yards/catch and 11 TDs. The tab stated Martinsburg will rely upon "Ohio wide receiver commitment Cedric Brown."

For those who care, Brown's Twitter handle is @IDoItForTheKidz. In his Twitter bio, he lists himself as an "OHIO U Football Commit."

Here's his ESPN recruitment player profile. It lists him a little smaller at 6-0, 165, with a 4.77 40-time.

A January article excerpt from The Daily Mail has some high praise for Brown, mentions he is the son of a former Marshall standout.

"Martinsburg's Cedric Brown and Spring Valley's Elijah Wellman impressed at the invite-only Proving Ground National Combine in Phoenix on Jan. 3, with Brown - the Bulldogs' All-State wide receiver and son of former Marshall standout Todd Brown - grabbing enough attention from recruiting guru Tom Lemming for Lemming to deem him West Virginia's top college prospect since Randy Moss."

A January article stated Brown was offered by Marshall and had interest from Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Rutgers and UCLA.

A June article said Brown visited a one-day camp at Duke.

From what I can gather in articles, Brown seems to have committed sometime in late June or July, but I cannot ascertain exactly when.

I found a couple higlight reels, too.

Nice find Mountain State Cat. Brown, who was a Class AAA first-team all-state selection this year, caught 57 passes for 846 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also intercepted three passes as one of Martinsburg's starting cornerbacks and had a punt-return touchdown.

According to this article, he had an offer from Marshall. In another article, I read that his dad played for Marshall.

I'd love to see this guy on the line of scrimmage against Louisville. I think he'll make big strides under coach Dixon.

And another one that slipped through Ohio's fingers. He was with Ohio for a couple years, but never played, though he did have some catches in a Spring game. He ended up transferring to the College of Charleston. In 2016 he played in 7 games, with no receptions, but he had 3 tackles, so I'm guessing he played special teams, or was moved to DB. In 2017 he had 1 catch for 37 yards, playing in 8 games:
