Hopeful that this is accurate. Going off Scout and composite ratings, there are only 13 four-star receivers who have yet to commit to a college. They are:
--Justyn Ross, Phenix City, AL
--Kamryn Babb, St. Louis, MO
--Jaylen Waddle, Bellaire, TX
--Justin Watkins, Clermont, FL
--Chase Cota, South Medford, OR
--Seth Williams, Cottondale, AL
--Isaah Crocker, Sacramento, CA
--Tommy Bush, Schertz, TX
--Joseph Scates, Dayton, OH
--Lawrence Keys III, New Orleans, LA
--Solomon Enis, Phoenix, AZ
--Erik Ezukanma, Keller, TX
--Eric Fuller, Los Angeles, CA
So, midwest, there really are two. Joseph Scates stands out as a possibility, though he lists his top interests as Alabama, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and Oklahoma. Kamryn Babb, the second-highest rated WR yet to commit, is down to Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma right now. We really haven't recruited the west much lately, so I would eliminate CA and AZ players. I also don't recall a lot of Texas recruiting of late. We had a little Florida surge last year and I think we got an Alabama player as well. That would possibly make Justin Watkins, Seth Williams, or Justyn Ross in play. Ross is the #1 uncommitted WR in the country, and lists his choices as down to Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, FSU. I'd likely rule him out. Williams is from Alabama and lists his choices as down to Bama or Auburn. I can't imagine an Alabama boy not choosing one of those schools if given choice. The other would then be Watkins. He lists his choices as LSU and Alabama.
If accurate, I'm going with Scates as the likely recruit. If so, come on Scates. We look like we have a QB who really could be something. Receivers have done well coming from the MAC (Antonio Brown, Randy Moss, Corey Davis).
