Uh, we don't get 4-star recruits at OHIO. Few ever land at a MAC school (note I said "FEW"" not NONE) Probably 1-2 a year including all MAC schools.
FWIW, I can only remember 2 actual 4-star recruits coming to Ohio, both of them Jucos. One was
Chido Nwokocha, and the other was
Boo Jackson, though if you go back to the days before recruiting services and stars, I'm sure that both Cleve and Snyder were "4-star recruits". When he was recruited, I argued that Lavon Brazill should have been 4 stars as well, and I say the same about this year's recruit, Maleek Irons, who has yet to be rated by anyone, and who will thus probably end up with a default minimum rating from all the services. Perhaps that's just as well - if he did pick up a 4-star rating at this point, some other teams might notice him and make late offers.
The Bad: He looks like a legit 4.7, 4.7 would be ok if he was 6'5" 220 but he is 6'1" 170. I don't see him getting open at the D1 level.
1. He runs good routes, so he will get open some
2. He is smart, and when the QB is in trouble, he finds an open area
3. When he is covered, he goes up for the ball, and takes it away, and holds on
4. He doesn't mind blocking
At this point he's just a offer as he hasn't accepted. I don't have any problem with the offer to him as I can see him being a useful part of the offense.
