There isn't much information available on him, which historically means he will probably be a star. ;)

He's 6'4", 252, and in the film I saw him playing DT, DE, RT, and RG. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. He moves well for an OL, but we might see him at DE or DT.

If he is indeed recruited for the OL, he's the smallest one Ohio has recruited in quite some time. In fact, the entire class is smaller than what we saw under Johnson and Lightner. The four OL recruits are:
Vannest 6'5" 295
Ambergey 6'5" 280
Atkninson 6'3" 273
Oakes 6'4" 252
Average weight=275

For 2018 they recruited Ramer, Danneker, McCraken, and Gilliland (300,315,285,305, avg 301)
For 2017 they recruited Tusha, Jackson, Meservy, Kitrell, Hayes (305,285,280,280,295, avg 289
For 2016 they recruited Fernandez, Trotter, Notestine, Beadle (300,309,323,320, avg=313)

I'm not saying this is good or bad. Note that among all the recruits from the last two years, two have played a significant role, Meservy and Kitrell. Those also happen to be the two lightest recruits, so weight isn't everything.

So far as I can find, the four smallest OL recruits in recent years have been:
2014 - Dudziak 6'6" 265
2009 - Skyler Allen 6'4" 265
2008 - Eric Herman 6'4" 264
2007 = Flading 6'4" 265"

Most of those turned out pretty well.

So. A little light. Well I am seeing pretty good feet and he finds the block that needs made, arriving with attitude to deliver a blow, then finishing.

I looked, and I did find the last lineman that came in lighter than Oakes. That would be Chris Rodgers, who came in at 228. I don't want anyone to think I am concerned about his size. He is going to be a good player for the Bobcats.

Pretty sure I saw a tweet recounting the camps attended this summer and 16 pound gained. Already bigger.

Thats good news. He is already ahead of the Year 1 expectations. Solich will recruit a smaller lineman if they have the ability to run and pass block. Our weightroom program is 10x better than 10 years ago. Dak is the man!

Here is a complete list of all 6-4 linemen recruited at 280lbs or less:

280 Hagan Meservy
280 Brett Kittrell
272 Vince Carlotta
265 Skyler Allen
265 Joe Flading
264 Lucas Powell
264 Eric Herman
252 (or 268) Joe Oakes
228 Chris Rodgers

That's pretty good company.
