Claims the longest field goal in Ohio this year. Saw a video...looks like it was 56 yards.

How are there kids like this barely getting recruited in high school when schools like Ohio State are rolling with a kicker who can’t hit anything beyond 35 reliably?

Since Cooper Heimbach's off the board, we might as well go all-in with this guy.

One, only one player plays across the country. Backups rarely see time or get scholarship. And it’s also not always about leg strength. Launch angle, timing etc all matter. And even though every team has a special teams coordinator, they rarely actually know anything about kicking. Probably the toughest position in football to get recruited

Illinois State fans would echo much of this. Brutal way to lose Natty

Illinois State’s fate drives this point home, spending a scholarship plus maybe a small amount of money on a top kicker seems like a real way to help set a G5 apart and give you a real leg up. We very well may have won at Rutgers and Ball State with a kicker who was reliable inside 45-50 yards. That would have likely had us heavily in the playoff conversation if we won the MAC title after that. I think two wins vs P4 opponents and 2 losses to a top 5 team and an 8-4 conference opponent would have beat out JMU losing once with no P4 wins.

Kicker gets all the credit and all the blame. But in reality is only 1/3rd the equation. Anyone remember Kevin Kerr. Look at his senior year, was a sizable drop off. Kevin didn’t forget how to kick. He lost his long snapper and holder (who spent a decade in the league). The fact we just brought in a LS, speaks volumes.

Just curious as to what happened with Kofi, and if our offer is still there.

I watched a late round hs playoff game this past fall. A soccer player handled the team's kickoffs, pat's and field goals. A very good kicker, all-county first teammer but NOT a football player.

Either wasn't coached, a real pussy, never watched a game or forgot all he was taught. Got a field goal blocked and the live ball fell at about the line of scrimmage and he had clear view of it laying on the ground, and never moved, watched the opponent pick up the ball and slowly ramble about 70 yards while the kicker just stood there and watched.

Make sure these guys know the rules, get the shit knocked out of them in tackling practice and watch film of what can go wrong in the kicking game so that they are ready when ANYTHING happens.

Are you referring to Kofi or someone else? Just curious about the radio silence from Kofi's camp.
