At this point, I get this feeling that Heimbach is destined to become an Akron Zip. Even if we choose the right HC, I think Heimbach has been turned away for whatever reason.
He liked my tweet about hiring Hauser so I think it depends on who is HC in about 24 hrs
I agree.

It’s Hauser so come on board Coop.

My college roommates were from Wheelersburg and let’s hope it’s us and not Akron.

According to Ted's commit list, the kicker is on board. Hopefully he will see that Coach Hauser is now officially hired.

He is listed as Committed and not Signed. I think Ohio would be a great opportunity for him. The job is there for the taking. Perform and get millions in cash and prizes.

His profile on X doesn’t mention his Ohio commitment, but says he has 2 D1 offers. He’s looking for a home I would guess but it may not be Ohio I’m afraid. He’s at some elite camp tonight based on his X account.

The longer we go without any word, the more I'm just assuming Heimbach's not going with us. If he were already sold on signing with us, he may have done it already.

Even kickers with his leg fly under the radar in SE and Southern Ohio without the camps. He’s always been baseball first until after last year.

Just won the most outstanding award at a prestigious kicking camp nailing a 61 yarder with over 200 kickers and long snappers in attendance. Holding off on signing g day seems to good advice for him.

This one never felt right. I know they rank kickers / punters differently but being a "5-Star" and only 2 D1 offers (Ohio and Akron) is a bit weird.

Let him go to Akron at this point. If he can't make up his mind soon enough, then we don't need him.

Hello, I’m an Ohio University Alum, Wheelersburg Graduate, and local resident of the area. I have watched Cooper play sports from a small kid until his recent All-American senior season and appearance in the State Championship game. I think it’s important to note that Ohio University did not offer Cooper a scholarship or any financial assistance. They offered him a “preferred walk-on spot” and chance to “compete.” This practice of offering kids a walk-on spot is common practice for specialists at the D1 level. Over the last couple months, Cooper has gained tremendous momentum in visibility and attention from other D1 programs. This spotlight, has set the stage for Cooper to transition from a “walk-on” at OU to a complete full ride to another D1 school. This isn’t about “he can’t make up his mind,” it’s about what is the best financial decision for himself and family. OU obviously needs upgrades on their special teams unit, they are trying to achieve this goal through “walk on” opportunities, which we all know is going to be tough. While I love OU, I can’t fault any kid or parent turning down a potential life changing opportunity. Go Bobcats!

I don't fault Cooper either. He can do what he wants. Just would've liked to hear something from him a few weeks ago instead of now.

Financial reasons are popping up again. Hopefully the economic branch of OU is paying attention.

110% accurate on this!

Interesting, Frank started the no money for specialist unless they became the starter. Early on that worked for him. Hasn’t been that great of late.

Yea - that's kinda (at least) last decade thinking. Hopefully we stop being short-sighted and cheap, starting with Adubofour.

If we aren’t offering something, it’s going to be tougher to compete than it is now.

To be honest, "Cooper" as a first name doesn't fit for a Bobcat. I was thinking Fiami.

No money for kickers might have worked win Solich was coach but no longer! Come on people, it’s two scholarships for good kickers. They are worth their weight in gold.

Totally agree. Would rather have my main kicker on scholarship than the 7th wide receiver or DB... No?
