I believe the only commits that we are still waiting on to sign are QB Levi Davis and P/K Cooper Heimbach
The two we really want of course…
And the only two on a team still playing in their senior season? Maybe unrelated. Maybe not.

I was thinking the same thing. I am sure they have other things on their minds this week. I will be in Canton on Friday to watch Levi and Olentangy Orange play

I am not being a wet blanket with this question. I am just trying to prepare myself to either celebrate the signings or head to the liquor store.

Can any of the signees bail out if Smith doesn't return for any reason?
Yes, per NCSA College Recruiting (https://www.ncsasports.org/recruiting/ncaa-transfer-rules ), "A 30-day portal window opens for players immediately following a head coach’s departure at their current school."

This would be similar to Julian Sayin who signed with Alabama and was an early enrollee and then transferred to OSU shortly after due to Nick Saban retiring.
While the signees may get another chance to change schools, I’m still amazed that we were able to sign who we did. Including some nice signing day signees.

I take it that this class is about as good as we were thinking before the coaching saga. I pay so little attention to recruiting that I have no idea looking at the list.

Pretty amazing everyone has signed given the current situation with Smith. I guess that's a good thing no one decided to jump ship, especially Levi Davis. I think he's going to be special. Fits our system perfectly.

All-Time Commits (per 247 Sports)

5. Brandon Jenkins - S
9. Malachi Taylor - S
10. Kaden Page - WR
12. Levi Davis - QB
17. James Brewer - CB
18. Danny Fortson Jr - OL

I know these are just their "ratings" but it's nice to see a handful of these new Bobcats high on the list. I think this can be a special class.

Tim Carpenter was rated quite a bit higher than Levi going into senior year. 247 had Carpenter 22nd in Ohio, and Davis 88th.

Also, if you use Pavey's 2025 ranking, he would be ranked second in this class.

Been from Cincinnati I’m glad to see We are recruiting the greater Miami conference. That conference, along with the greater Catholic league are two of the top D1 conferences in the state of Ohio.

Just saw on Instagram we picked up another WR from Sandusky - Blake Parker. His X profile says he had 4 D1 offers.

People should be excited to hear Davis to Page in the near future. Levi Davis is a guy that has everything you look for in a dual threat QB and I’m still shocked he wasn’t scooped up by a P4 school late. I am more plugged into the scene in Northwest Ohio and OU found a hidden gem in Kaden Page. The kid simply doesn’t drop the ball, you can line him up at any position in the scheme and he can deliver. Even at a school that leans toward the run, he put up back to back over 1K yard seasons with double digit touchdowns. I put a link to his senior season tape and junior year tape below and the growth year to year is amazing to see, and you can see a solid foundation that maybe could allow this guy to see valuable minutes from day one. He’s the only player in his conference to be first team on both sides of the ball. Just unreal upside and value found by this coaching staff.

Myser has football scholarship offers from D-I Mercyhurst and D-II Ashland, while Ohio University has offered him preferred walk-on status. A number of Football Championship Subdivision programs have contacted him, but he's still leaning toward baseball, where he bats and throws left-handed.

Casey Myser, Highland High School--Medina, OH 6-foot-2, 215-pound

A two-time D-II first-team All-Ohio running back, as well as a D-III first-team All-Ohio selection in baseball as a junior, when all he did was lead Medina County in batting average (.508), on-base percentage (.620), slugging percentage (.814), OPS (1.430) and triples (3). Myser can bench press 315 pounds, deadlift 465 and squat 510, but he also runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, making him a rare blend of power and speed.

Saw him play a dozen times--Christian McCaffrey at the high school level comes to mind. Get the kid to Athens and let him play both sports. He may eventually excel at one sport but as long as it is as a Bobcat, who cares!

Looks like Casy Myser is headed to Athens for baseball.

I hope it works out for him as a Bobcat on the diamond but if it doesn't the football coaches should be ready to pounce. I am telling you he is the real deal on the gridiron and such a weapon coming out of the backfield to catch passes when he is not breaking off long runs from scrimmage. Maybe not as fast as Beau Blankenship but bigger and great hands. Baseball players are usually highly skilled at tracking the ball on the run compared to many receivers who see to have trouble adjusting on the run and getting to where the pass is trending.

Good luck Casey.
