In looking through the participation reports, there are some names that I expected to see, but whom I don't see. Are the following hurt, or not playing for some other reason?

Steven Hayes - hasn't played at all
Hagan Meservy - played in the first two games only. Are they trying to redshirt him?
Noah Hoffman - played in only the first game
Jake Hale - The long snapper the last three years hasn't played
Zac Burks - a JUCO DT
Keevon Harris - On the depth chart as 2d string, but hasn't played
Austin Conrad - played very well at DE last year, hasn't played
Amir Miller - played in first game only

Meservy definitely played vs UC.

He was the RG Albin so geniusly decided to pull from the 1-inch line.

I think those participation reports aren't too accurate

Miller is out for the season with a knee surgery for the 2nd straight season. Hoffman has been hurt. Austin Conrad is working his way back from a foot injury. Devin King has taken over long snapper duties from Hale.

That's an understatement. For example, does anyone think that Shane Hooks was the starting middle linebacker versus UVA? Nevertheless, sometimes you can learn things by looking at them. You are correct about Meservy. I had forgotten that, thanks

A redshirt for Meservy would make a ton of sense

I support redshirting any true freshmen except in the case of their making the two deep. Recently we have seen Wood, Pruehs, Meservy and Kitrell step up as freshmen. An O lineman once at that level rarely would drop off the two deep except due to injury. Now Mr. Ross behind 45 and 21 could perhaps should redshirt if he can be sold on it. JMHO

The flip side is that sometimes players get hurt, and have to take a year off later. If they haven't used their redshirt, they can use it at that time.
