7 turnovers the past 2 weeks .... gotta place blame on players and not coaches.
Where were the defensive adjustments to Childers getting his gold jacket against us? What about the face guarding. The coaches share some of the blame.
I respectfully disagree. If Rourke doesn't lose the ball on the drive we were moving on we put the game away and we aren't having this discussion.
Exactly, the game is about ball security and we have none.
Turnovers are solely on the players, in my opinion. However, with an All-America defender unabated to the QB, you have to wonder what the coaching strategy was to keep him away from Rourke?

Cincinnati is undefeated and ranked, Virginia beat Miami (not the "Redhawks," but the "Hurricanes"), and Northern Illinois (4 - 0 in League play already) is well on its way to winning the West Division of the MAC and, quite likely, the MAC Championship too. We are not a BIG-10 program (the League that cannot count) or part of the SEC (where Athens Native Joe Burrow is making waves), so what gives when it comes to the lofty expectations of this program? Yeah, a MAC Championship has alluded Solich and company up to now, but the program certainly seems primed to make a run for it this year with a little luck. Does anyone on this board truly grasp just how ridiculously far this program has come from being one of the most consistently pathetic doormats in Division I Football History? Expectations have reached almost delusional levels on this board.
We’ve discussed just how far Coach Solich has elevated this program ad infinitum and BShot has acknowledged same repeatedly. Solich really has elevated the program tremendously. No one questions that at all.

However, that’s NOT the issue. The question is, as it is with every single MAC coach (or any football coach at the college level in their own respective conferences), will Ohio win a MACC with Solich at the helm? And even Solich himself said, the goal of the program is to appear in the Top 25 and win the MACC. And through 14 years, Solich hasn’t done so. Can Ohio still win the MACC this year? Sure it can. Will it? I’m usually Joe Optimist but even I have to say that I doubt it. We’ll see who’s right and who’s wrong within the next month and a half.
Thank you! I really wish people would quit beating the "Ohio used to suck really bad ... Solich has turned this program around"

NO SH*T!!!!

How long until we can bury that train of thought. It's been 14 years folks!

Solich brought Ohio here ... a 7-8 win team that gets bowl eligible and occasionally loses a conference championship game. That is who they are. Period.

Rarely more ... rarely less.

And again, doing it in the worst division in FBS.

Yes ... UC is ranked and Ohio had them beat and flat out gagged. There is no moral victory being unable to score from 1-inch line.

Yes ... UVa beat Miami ... and they steamrolled Ohio for most of that game. Moral victory! Ohio outscored them after getting down 35-7

Yes ... NIU is 4-0 in MAC ... and Ohio blew a 12 point 4th quarter lead against the MAC West favorites.

Oh wait! Ohio is MAC Championship favorite?!?!

C'mon. This season has been one disappointment after another. Even the wins are underwhelming. UMass, Howard & Kent? Good grief. Not exactly resume builders.

I'll be STUNNED if this team runs the table. There are just too many holes in this team ... and program to expect a league title anytime soon

+1

The question is not "Has Solich and staff brought the program far?" Of course they have. It was in the toilet when Solich arrived. For some time now, Bobcat Football is no longer seen as a joke.

I think the question should be "Can Solich and staff bring the program any further?" We've really seen no evidence of that. So, it's a matter of whether Bobcat fans should just be satisfied or want the program to try and reach even higher.

If we stop turning the godda**** ball over, there's no reason we can't win out.

After the slow start, Rourke is absolutely slinging it now and he's been really on target. But he's just got to hang on to the ball when the rush comes. I know it's not easy. If it were easy everyone would be a d1 qb. Can't have any more fumbles from AJ.

For sure....and get the ball to Cox and Odom and Papi and Meyer and Conner...they are fine receivers.

Other than our D collapse I think the other most surprising situation is the inability of our O Line to open holes. It was supposed to be a strength.

Doc, though I'm not the most astute observer of these things, I've noticed on several occasions that the OL opens up a hole big enough for you or I to run through but the RB runs to the wrong spot and tries to go through a different non-existent hole. Irons seems to do this less than some of our other backs. I know it's a split second kind of decision, but I'm not ready to throw the OL under the bus, especially when they seem to be providing good pass protection most of the time.

Interesting that 3 Bobcat offensive lineman graded out this high.
