...Akron Beacon Journal is reporting they will play at South Carolina as their make up game on December 1st. South Carolina had their September game vs. Marshall canceled due to Hurricane Florence.

I was looking for something like this to happen. Both teams are out of the running for their conference championships but are fighting for bowl eligibility. Akron has to win 2 out 3 and SoCar 2 out of 4. Scheduling another 1AA school wouldn't help either team because they've already played one so adding another 1AA would mean they would need seven wins to be bowl eligible. About the only other choice would've been SMiss (3-4, 2-2), which is a game short. T'erd is 3-1 in CUSA and is still in the running for the CUSA championship game.

Yuck-as an Ohio and Clemson fan, who do you cheer for in this one?

Gamecocks have 3 tough games, Clemson, Florida and Ole Miss so this was almost a must schedule to get a bowl.

Just hope that both teams are 4-7 so it's absolutely meaningless.

Or you can root for Akron to make the MAC just a bit less sucky vs 1A teams this year.

Ole Miss is a tough game now? Once you figure out how to stop their WRs then you're pretty set.

The NCAA just affirmed Ole Miss's bowl ban for this year, so they're likely to play every game like it's a bowl.

Projection is a toss up but its on the road and Gamecocks aren’t exactly great this year.
