WMU losing at BSU last night was a bit of a shocker. They're a different team without Wassink. Unless NIU just doesn't show up next week, the Broncos will end the season with four straight losses and a 6-6 record, which might not even get them to a bowl depending on how things pan out.

I'm guessing it will.

Currently:

Number of bowl berths available: 78 (39 games)

Number of bowl-eligible teams: 64 (32 games worth)

Number of teams one win from bowl eligibility: 22 (11 games worth)

Of those 22 teams that still need one win ... 14 of them have to win at least one more game to meet the allotted bowl slots.

If not, they'll have to start digging into the 5-7 bargain bin.

If more than 14 of them win a game (and that includes Toledo at 5 wins) ... the MAC would have six bowl-eligible teams for 5+ bowl tie-ins (Frisco is an at-large that MAC is part of pool)

So I'm guessing 6-6 would "earn" both Toledo and WMU bowl bids. What a sport!
