All of that, especially better recruiting. We need players that can perform in the crunch, playmakers that perform when needed most.
Lol...maybe you can point them out? How do you spot them? That’s what is called an “intangible”. You don’t know who they are until you get them on the field. But great idea!?

Besides recruiting, the easiest things to do better in my eyes is:

Shake up the coaching staff - get fresh blood in and change up what they're doing. For God's sake, run some plays under center for a different look once in awhile. Demonstrate some imagination more frequently and quit relying on always executing perfectly in the base offense/defense.

Get the damn ball to Papi White 15+ times a game every single game instead of the 4.9 times a game he is averaging right now. Move him around. Get him in space. Besides Nathan Rourke, he's head and shoulders the most dynamic player wearing green & white on the field.
When the other team stacks the box in a series and Ohio is -5 in yardage its time to throw downfield rather than waste three possessions UTM. Statistically if we throw deep to Papi enough times he'll make a play. Do the coaches not collect stats on play calling to find their statistical efficiencies?

In terms of the Miami game, I would have sat Rourke earlier as it was clear he was having an off day. Many of his passes were nowhere near the intended receiver. Of course, this is better seen in hindsight; though I must admit, I was saying this to those in my den as I was watching the game in "real time."

I think the coaches in the booth could be helped by watching the game on the laptop so they can see when a large breakdown in momentum occurs and do something before its too late. Get a read on how well the opponent is performing in a game. It just seems the coaches can let a whole quarter go by before realizing there is a real problem and not simply a lack of execution.

Isn't this how we ended up with a safety v. Miami? Inside the -5 and tried to throw?

Every coaches box has a tv with the game feed being played.

Have a grad assistant with the job specifically to read the energy of the game so a quick adjustment can be made. I can't believe we average 40ppg and still throw away possessions.

You really believe a Grad assistant with little experience can read such things?

Yes because taking a 25 year old grad assistant who has been watching/playing football for almost 20 years could see when the train is running off the rails from watching it on TV. Football is their every day job at that point too so they know what to look for.

Yep, you are soooo right, not sure why no one has thought of or created this position before.
