The loyalty to assistants doing the same thing year after year is Frank's flaw. Who keeps GOOD assistants this long?
Pretty sure Frank’s assistants did not miss FG’s or run out the back of the EZ. Team was in a position to win, that is coaches job. Players at some point have to execute.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah .... players certainly deserve their fair share for this loss. No question.
But was it the players that opened the game with 12 straight runs ... and then called 7 straight passes?
And then down 21 points, take 30+ seconds every play to get the play call in?
They wasted 2 minutes to run three plays that resulted in a safety.
Don't think those two minutes would've come in handy?
Ragland was dissecting them in the 1H on four straight possessions ... where was the adjustment?
Admittedly, the defense played a little better in the 2H ... but a big reason for that was because Chuckie Martin puckered up and tried to take the air out of the ball as soon as the 2H started. He did his best to gift-wrap that game for Ohio.
The Ohio coaching staff did NOT put that team in position to win. Miami did. A botched punt opened the door. Without that, Ohio is still back there letting the play clock crawl under 10 seconds before snapping the ball down 21 points.
That was a typical November egg from this program. Just like Akron & Buffalo last year ... just like CMU in 2016 ... BG in 2015 ... UB, BG & Kent in 2013 ... Kent, Ball & BG in 2012 ... Kent in 2010
But, please, tell us how none of those were the coaches fault either?
Nor was the NIU loss this season that put Ohio in position to have to win 6 straight to end the year to get to MAC title game? 14-point 4th quarter leads are hard to hold on to.
Gimmie a break.
7-5 (5-3) .... book it.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Same thing every year. But it's not the coaches fault. Nope.
