I counted 34 players from Florida on Kron's roster. Apparently the good ones went elsewhere.

Or perhaps Coach Bowden has proven himself not up to the task. When he arrived at Akron, his head coaching record was 47-17. At Akron, including today's loss, his record stands at 35-51. In 7 seasons at Akron he has 1 winning season, one break-even and 5 losing.

I know that injuries and other factors can play havoc with a season but it's hard to fathom that they won at Northwestern, which is playing for the B10 championship next week, but lost at home to 3-9 BG by 15 points. Granted, Nelson was hurt for the BG game but it shows that he hasn't been able to recruit well enough to get depth at key positions.

It seems like most of his team is made up of transfers.

Bill Snyder's model for recruiting enough talent to turn Kansas State around relied upon JUCO/transfers and smaller school multi sport athletes who likely never camped or sent video to rivals. Terry Bowden has gone the JUCO/transfer route Snyder modeled at Kansas State. There are ups and downs from it. It is easier, but, well you do need those four/five/six year seniors who will provide more leadership. JMHO

Bill Snyder won with JUCO’s, you have to have a great culture and great coaches to do that.

Interesting article from a while back. The state reimbursement for students from Ohio who complete college courses could change the roster at Akron who is in a financial emergency.
