This is totally nuts!

OHIO looks amazing. Too bad we lose headscratchers EVERY YEAR and come up short. Sad!

Good Ohio showed up to play tonite. We’ve seen this for several years just can’t put it together for an entire Season. By far the best team in The MAC.

I am trying to enjoy this performance but I just keep coming back to what happened last week.

It will be great to knock Buffalo off their perch!

Great team win! Let’s take care of business against Akron and hope BGSU helps us out. if Miami wins tonight and next week what happens in the event of a three way tie?

Miami would advance in a three way tie. They would have the least amount of losses in the EAST division with the 2 pt win over us as the tiebreaker. This beatdown helps as BUFF will have jitters playing back to back road games to end the season. But hopefully NIU takes care of business tonight to avoid a 3-way tie. And hopefully Pelini remembers our defensive packages at OU that can help them beat the BUFFS next weekend. You beat BuFFS by ball control.

Go NIU tonight!!!

The betting line surprises me. I think Buffalo will win this game going away.
This reeks of a "meaningless" Ohio big win.

Just like Toledo last year.

Just enough to be "we are probably the best team in the MAC, but we continue to trip and fall all over ourselves when it counts so we once again won't play for a league title"
At this point, we can't control whether this win will be "meaningless" or not, or whether it will be "Just like Toledo last year", the Bobcats just need to knock the crap out of these guys and prove between the two teams who is better. Bunker mentality? Maybe...but I don't care...

Here's hoping the Buffalo secondary has recurring nightmares of AJ and Maleek coming at them with a full head of steam...
Crap. Knocked. Out.

Nightmares. Coming. Up.

What an absolute ass-kicking. Goodness.

Just makes you sick thinking about Miami loss. Just flat sick.

Great game, we need to see more drake and Buckner, drake looked better in coverage than anybody I that I have seen all year. AJ was a manchild and Rourke was great.

We looked great tonight. It's even more frustrating how bad we were last week at Miami. 2nd year in a row that we were clearly the best team in the MAC East, but won't make the title game because of a late season egg we dropped.

And to make the path to Detroit that much more impossible ....

Miami goes to NIU and wins tonight. NIU clinched MAC West with WMU loss Tuesday and played like it. Total dog display vs. Redhawks.

For Ohio to win the East. ... BG now has to beat UB (not happening) ...

.. and Miami has to lose to Ball (not happening) ...

... and Ohio has to beat Akron (should happen ... but we've said that before)

Yes the second season in a row the Cats may be the best team in the conference, but unfortunately this isn't basketball where all teams get an opportunity for a league title in the tournament. This season is not done yet and when this group gets a win vs Akron then the goal has to be back to back bowl wins and a nine win season. Yes everyone will be bummed, but have to hope the Bobcats respond and keep rolling to get nine W's this season. Go Cats finish strong!

+1

Good summation.

Being the pollyanna optimist that I am, let me point out that just a few years ago a certain poster from the Land of Fruits and Nuts kept saying two things: 1. We couldn't beat a league team with a winning record, 2. We were losing many games (sometimes to questionable opponents) by ass-whipping scores. Well, neither of these statements are true this year. This year we've lost league games by often very small scores, and when we've won most of the time we are are ass-whippers. To me this bodes well for the future of Bobcat football and the Fighting Frankies. [OK, go flame me for daring to be an optimist on day like today; remember, I'm a Cub fan so I know how to "wait until next year."]

Luckily Fiami plays on short rest against Ball State next Tuesday. At the very least we'll know if we even have a shot for MACC before Akron.

Ohio beat Buffalo (9-2) and WMU (6-5) ... to go along with Ball (4-7), BG (2-8), Kent (2-8) and possibly Akron (4-5) in the MAC plus UMass (4-6)

And yes ... those MAC wins have come by an astounding 48-17 average with Akron still to come.

The MAC losses ... to Miami (5-6) and NIU (7-4) by an average of 27-25.

(Throw in the 34-30 loss to UC for good measure)

Three losses by 4, 2 and 3 points. Just gut-wrenching.

4 or 5 plays from being 10-1 (7-0) ... but instead here we are at 7-4 (5-2) needing Ball State and BG to bail us out.

SMFH.

It's just so damn frustrating to see what should've been. This team should honestly be playing for a second straight MAC title and be in the Top 20 in the country.

THISfreakinCLOSE

Story of the program. Just can't find a way to get over the hump.

Just let you imagination run wild for a second ...

Beat Akron last year ... win the MAC title ... win a bowl game.

Score from 1-inch line vs. UC ...

Don't blow 14-point 4th quarter lead at NIU ...

Don't lose to Fiami ...

NONE of those things are ridiculous. All could have ... and honestly, should have happened!

So when people tear into me about unreal expectations ... this is what I'm talking about.

Is it unreal to think Ohio couldn't be sitting at 10-1 (7-0) ranked #20 getting set to defend their MAC title in two weeks? Is that really crazy talk?

I don't think so. And I won't apologize for having those "lofty, unrealistic" expectations.

The enjoyment you could be taking from this game is only limited by the baggage you enjoy dragging with.

Don't disagree with a word in this post.  Between the two of us, that might be a record.  Well, maybe it happened once or twice before, but that was before Jeff McKinney was keeping score so they don't count! smiley cheeky winkcool
