Another crazy night in the MAC again tonight, which proves you never know what can happen. Both of the undefeated teams in the MAC were knocked off in unlikely fashion. Ohio simply DESTROYED Buffalo in a game that was men vs boys, and Miami held NIU to 7 points on their home field in their first loss to a team not from the Power 5 this year. I wasn't surprised that Ohio won, but I was surprised by how easily it was. I felt this game was going to show if Buffalo was for real or not and that question was easily answered. UB can't win in Athens and never had a chance tonight. You can play that game 9 more times and I'm picking Ohio each time. Tonight is a perfect example of why you play the games and that you never know what can happen. It's never over until its officially over, and in Ohio's case, it is not.

There is pride, which is big, also the chance to be an 8 win team, then a 9 win team, for a better bowl. How many schools are eight or nine win teams? What percentiles would that put Ohio in? The last team any other team in the MAC wants to see across the field is Ohio. Pride ain't nothing. I am proud of this team and I feel most are.

A pity, you won't know what you've got til it is gone.

I'm well aware of what Ohio has. More than aware. More than aware of where Ohio football is in 2018 compared to 1988. It's been discussed ad nauseam here.

I think it's more a pity you can't accept the obvious inability to elevate to the level past where Ohio is now.

The level where UB & NIU were at last night ... the level where they can lose on senior night at home or get buried on the road in November and still have a straight path to the MAC title .... to what would be multiple MAC titles for both programs in the last 14 yrs.

I simply point out the painfully obvious facts surrounding this program. You choose to stick your head in the sand & enjoy the optics of an 8-4 (6-2) season without really looking into the construction of it.

Frank will leave Ohio as the winningest coach in MAC history .... and NEVER win a MAC title. Wrap your head around that! It's more impressive to do that than to win one title in 15 years.

You just can't seem to accept the fact that fans can both be happy & proud of a team .... and disappointed & frustrated at the same time. It's beyond your comprehension that an Ohio fan can cheer a 52-17 win and also shake their heads at what happened 7 days prior.

Quit forcing people into silos. You don't have to be anti-Frank or blind/pro-Frank. You push that narrative too much.

It's okay to be frustrated and still be a rabid fan. Not all fans have to be rah-rah 24/7 like you.

Could be a meaningful game if Miami loses Tuesday. Either way, revenge on Akron for last season is on my mind!

Asking for three dominos to fall our way, especially when one of them is BGSU, is kind of a problem. If BG pulls the upset then color me shocked! Because I just don't see it happening personally.

I think it matters a lot to the players, especially the seniors. To win that last home game is really important to most of them. Add what happened last year plus the fact that they can keep Akron from getting bowl eligible and I expect them to be fired up.

WMU losing Tuesday night was the worst thing that could happen to NIU. They really lost their edge. They played like we did in the first half vs Fiami. Not sharp at all. Lots of dropped passes and blown plays.

I applaud your delusional committment to the cause.

And let me say, I'll buy the first round in Detroit if BG & Ball hold up their end.

The odds are astronomical that both of those upsets happen. But you keep the faith!

Bottom line ... Ohio is playing for personal pride.

Last night was super impressive ... if for nothing else, they showed some heart in a huge bounce back win. That's something this program has lacked in the past ... as recent as last year when they gave that uninspired effort at UB.

This team has shown ability to pull itself off the mat after 3 gut punch losses. That's good to see ... good character.

And yes ... they should be up for a final home game vs Kron.

Still doesn't erase disappointment of not being in Detroit.

Ball State and Miami is a pretty good rivalry. Should be a good game. Asking BGSU to beat Buffalo is a kin to asking Akron (who had 70 yards last week of total offense) to beat OHIO the way the Cats are playing.

It just sucks that Ohio has put themselves in this position again.

There is ZERO question who the best team in the league is ....

Ohio dominated Buffalo last night

Ohio controlled NIU for 3 quarters in DeKalb before letting that one slip away.

Ohio dominated Miami in 2H but had four horrific defensive series in the 1H that cost them.

It just stinks to be back in this position for a second straight year.

Ohio kicked the snot out of Toledo last year before flushing the MAC East down the drain with that disaster at Akron .... blowing a 21-10 lead.

As awesome of a display that was last night .... excuse me for being a bit salty at the current position this team is in.

It is surely a long shot but it would be nice if Ohio finally got something to break its way.

Fair point. It matters for those reasons, and senior day is always important. I wish they'd take the liberty of moving Senior Day to a game when students are on campus - both in basketball and football.
