So, if the key to staying competitive is reloading the lines each season. A rebuilding season or even a rebuilding stretch within a season can be the difference between achieving expectations or not. First, the 2019 team will need to replace Lowery, Anderson & Wood. Good reason to expect a rebuilding season. However, I expect next season's OL to be 3 Srs Pleasent, Hayes and Grimes, with 2 Jrs Kitrell and Meservy. Again, three, Pleasent, Meservy and Kitrell have All MAC looks about them. So, I am calling it more like reloading than rebuilding. Expecting the new group to begin 2019 like 2018 at the end of this season would be silly, given the departures of Ouellette and Irons at RB. However, I expect the OL to be representative.

Anyone wish to address the DL which had trouble being representative of recent units. Are they getting there?

Looks like Miami has raided the Colerain football program. Time for Ohio scouts to start paying attention to players From St Edward, St Ignatius and Mentor.

How can OU not grab St Ed's Caden Kolesar? Who remembers his father John Kolesar at Michigan?

OU needs to start going after some of these kids. They may not be Alabama ready, but they win in big games and usually outperform those that are supposedly deemed "better."

How long is Kittrell out?

Good question. Wish I knew the answer. However, Mr. Hayes stepped in at C without a problem. Ohio OL history includes young athletes Pruehs, Wood and Meservy stepping up as early as their freshman years. If Hayes is needed at C a representative G will be found.

Sadly a lot of the Colerain guys Frank and Co. have gone after in recent years haven't panned out which pains me as a CHS grad.

I was at the state championship game a few weeks ago and Ed's had some players. Could see their 2nd team all-state back getting overlooked as he is a tad on the smaller side. 74 on the line was quite a road grater.

Development is the most important factor with OL and the guy who was instrumental behind the current group is now coaching somewhere else. I'm expecting some drop off in OL play next year but we may win more games anyway with Rourke returning.

Hopefully, we can get some backups some reps in the bowl game. The RB position needs to be addressed as well. I hope we can see some wheel routes put in for Ross, who has elite speed.

Good call. I was concerned as to the effect of losing coach Johnson on the overall offense as he is good enough to be the OC at Colorado State. That might not work out for Johnson, CSU 3-9 streak L5. I believe, at Ohio, there was was a blip as coaches settled into rolls. As Ohio rolled in the 2nd half of the season I became less concerned over the loss of Johnson. At season's end I am seeing signs from both lines that new coaching is actually asking more from the players.
