A trip to Pittsburgh sounds fun. Would think a lot of Bobcats will show up for that one.
Especially because it's going to be a game Ohio is going to WIN! Not only is this an easy road trip to make, Ohio will be in prime position to beat Pitt next year for several reasons. One, Ohio will - as usual - be a very good team again next year and will once again be one of the favorites to win the MAC. Two, Pitt loses a TON of starters next year. I was watching their game the other night and they put a stat up on the screen that said 19 of Pitt's 22 starters were seniors! That's going to be a massive hit for them. Third, and this will be a huge advantage for Ohio heading into this matchup, Ohio will have a game under its belt before facing Pitt. Ohio opens its season vs Rhode Island a week earlier while Pitt's season opener will be the game vs Ohio. This is a HUGE edge and advantage for Ohio!
Not sure about your info.
I only count 13 seniors on Pitt's starting roster ... and only two other seniors in their two-deep on offense and defense.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/pittsburghpanthers... They only have 19 seniors on their entire roster? Maybe that's what you saw.
https://pittsburghpanthers.com/roster.aspx?path=football&... In fact, PItt has played a lot of young guys this year .... 7 true freshman have seen action and 16 redshirt freshman.
Pat Narduzzi has recruited well ... 42nd best class in America for 2019 with 20 commits.
in comparison, Ohio is 78th with 15 commits.
Regardless, I think you are vastly underestimating Pitt. Is it a winnable game, sure! But I don't think Pitt is a doormat like Kansas was in 2016-17. This is the defending champ of the ACC Coastal Division. A win by Ohio would be quite impressive.
And considering the way Ohio handled Howard in their opener ... I'm hard pressed to put a lot of stock in a game vs Rhode Island preparing the Bobcats for a road trip to an ACC team for their opener.
I'll be at Heinz Field .... looking forward to it. But I don't agree this will "be a game Ohio is going to WIN!"
A chance to win ... maybe? But they'll be a significant underdog of about 8-10 points is my guess.
As far as Marshall ... rivalry game. Nuff said, ha!
