Can remember AJ coming in to Kent St game in the 4th quarter due to injuries and fumbles as a Freshman Walk-on, Took us down the field for a Game Winning FG. He was the 5th RB to play that day, AJ has been nothing but special for the Ohio Football program, he has fought through injuries, surgeries and never gave up, now he ranks among the Elite Rushers to ever come through Ohio, back to back 1000 yard rushing seasons, but his effort and leadership will be greatly missed, I know AJ has 1 more game left as a Bobcat but WOW what a story that young man wrote while he wore the Green & White and it all started as a Walk-on. I just wanna say Thank You AJ Ouellette for representing this great University we call Ohio with Class and Dignity you will be greatly missed.

I was at that Kent game, Dennis. The first, second and third string RBs all fumbled. If I am recalling correctly, Coach Solich gave the first stringer a second chance and he fumbled again. Enter AJ who, again, as I recall carried the ball on 5 or 6 consecutive plays to set up the game-winning score.

That's right Mike and the AJ Train started rolling after that.

The circumstances of his first game was something that the CBS guys didn't pick up on. They mentioned that in his first game he had only 28 yds rushing but didn't delve into how he secured the win. It's been a real joy watching him.

The fumbles all occurred on consecutive drives in the 2nd half. First Tim Edmond, then Daz Patterson twice, and finally Dorian Brown.

The kid is tough as nails. Survived a tough injury and has always represented the school so well. A Bobcat legend. Two years ago following his injury I was taking my then nine year old on a campus tour seeing things we don’t normally see on a football Saturday. Before heading into the Convo for a hoops game we walked by Peden and noticed the gate was open. Running routes with two guys throwing to him was AJ. He saw us and came over, I asked him if he ever takes a day off? He laughed and said that these were two of his buddies from high school that were visiting and he talked them into throwing to him. He took a few pics and threw with my kid. Just an awesome guy
We actually called our trick play direct snap play this season in youth football simply AJ.

Agree completely, my friend. It's been a pleasure to call his name. Gotta love the hard working walk-ons!

Well stated G-Man. AJ and the senior class have given it their all, and will be remembered for a long time.

Yesterday AJ really laid some licks on defenders trying to tackle him. Most notable in the open field, he gets really low and delivers a blow with his pads.

I was at the Kent game too for his coming out party.

I hate to think of Ohio football next year without AJ but I wish him all of the luck in the world. He has been the epitome of what a student athlete should be and I can't think of a better representative of this university. His work ethic, determination, and dedication to his team and coaches are an example for others to follow. I'd love to see he somehow back in the fold with the football program after graduation as an assistant of some type (though I'm not aware of any such position being available right now). AJ is the type of individual every program needs...he's our "been there, done that" guy and can share his life lessons with countless others.

Thanks AJ for creating so many fond memories for the Bobcat football family. Best of luck on your upcoming marriage and whatever the future holds for you!!!

Witnessing what AJ has done at OU isn’t surprising at all to those who watched him grow up in little Covington, Ohio. We all knew he was “SPECIAL”, which he proved over his OU career. Any NFL team who gives him a shot will realize the same thing.

BTW, here’s a link to a story from 2014 when AJ committed to Ohio University coming out of high school. It’s amazing how spot on his high school football coach was in predicting the success AJ would have at OU.

One of the greats. I'll be disappointed if AJ doesn't get a shot in the NFL at least as an undrafted FA. He would be a valuable piece on a roster if you need a reliable few yards here and there.
