The MAC seems to horse-trade bowl slots for eligible teams. My guess is that if the QuickLane Bowl is available, they'll push for Buffalo there to give the best team in the conference a shot at at highest profile opponent. I think we probably wind up in the Tater Bowl.

But if some of these other conferences' bowls open up, I could see Buffalo getting one of those bids and maybe then we wind up in the QuickLane.

Edit: VaTech and T'erd have scheduled a game for Dec 1, conditioned on VaTech beating UVA next week. Both teams had games cancelled earlier in the season.
VaTech did beat UVa, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out next week.

Players from NC State and UNC got into a brawl after NC State scored the winning TD in OT today. Both benches cleared. It'll be interesting to see how NC State's administration handles this. SoCar and Clemson had a donnybrook after their game in 2012 and both administrations decided to ban their teams from post-season play. That's one reason Ohio went to the Independence Bowl that year.

Chatter at the game yesterday was Potato or Frisco. I personally hope for Boca Raton since it has a beach and Tiki bars.

I would expect Potato vs. very probably Utah St.; or Frisco vs Houston, Tulane, Temple or Memphis.

Orlando Sentinel is projecting Ohio vs Miami in Detroit. It doesn't say if it is Miami University or the University of Miami.

Man I would love to somehow end up in a bowl against Wisconsin, my Dad (and several other family member's) alma mater. And I think we could beat them. Might even suggest we would be favored against them.

If the stars align and we play the U in Detroit and 20k Bobcats don't show up, We can't complain about our bowl or opponent again.

I have heard Ohio will be in a Core 5 MAC bowl (Camellia, Bahamas, Frisco, Boise, Dollar General), most likely Frisco Bowl vs Houston.

If it’s Boise, don’t despair…

ESPN has the Frisco bowl on December 19 and there is no Miami Beach Bowl that I can find anywhere. If it exists it’s not on the 19th.

I think that ESPN bought the Miami Beach bowl and moved it to Frisco, renaming it the Frisco bowl.

(And by "I think" I actually mean that I read about it, here: https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fl-sp-miami-beach-bow... )

For similar reasons I would love to see an OHIO-Minnesota match-up in a bowl this year

Would not be that excited about a Potato Bowl repeat vs. Utah State.

Hearing through the grapevine that Frisco sounds most probable, though.
