I think it will be a long while before we see a team like them. Granted the slip up against Miami this team could have easily beaten UVA and Cincy and been a 10-11 win team but for a handful of defensive lapses. We literally had 5-6 of the best Ohio players ever at their positions this season. 1.Nathan 2.AJ 3.Maleek 4.Papi 5.The Joe's 6.Javon

It was a great team, I home that we will see the next iteration in the next few years. I think that Buckner and drake will be electric, I think that we have recruited some very good linebackers, tail back wise that may be as good as it gets.

I think it was the best Ohio team in recent years, but I think the next few years will also be very good.

1968 team gets top billing until we go undefeated again.
The 2018 is the second best team , I think. The 2012 team was my pick for third best.

The 2018 team is my personal FAVORITE team of all time. Great kids gave great effort, stayed out of major trouble and made us all proud of Ohio football.

PS Pretty lucky injury wise too.

This year’s team was a tale of two halves. The first half of the season team was average at best, so nope, definitely nowhere near top 3.

Second half team was definitely top 3, maybe the best since the ‘68 team. Had that team played that way the entire season, Ohio would have been competing for the G5 spot in the NY6 bowl.

Virginia had a handle on OU the entire game. How could one even come close to concluding that OU could have easily beaten Virginia?

Virginia was better than Ohio. As for the other teams the Bobcats played, I don't think so. This Ohio team was just as good or better than all the others.

We started out that game very poorly and forgot how to tackle and cover. That was definitely a winnable game. They did not manhandle us, they didn’t push us around, we started off horribly, the Howard game was too close and we did not make the neccesary adjustment to refocus our efforts.

Not winning the MAC East automatically knocks this team down a few notches. Reaching the MAC title game matters the most. If Ohio wins a MAC title game, then that would move it to the top in the modern era. Its hard to win a MAC title as the conference is very good at the top with several strong programs. A little luck helps too, but Ohio has put it self in position to contend year after year.

I guess you are one of those people that just watch the game huh? I watched the game AND the all 22 film. Ohio could have easily won that game minus 3 Explosive plays from UVA. UVA gave Ohio much respect for hanging in their and responding to what could have been an onslaught of TDs.

This is why I broke Ohio's season into 2 parts, the 1st half and the 2nd half. That same Ohio team that "could have easily" beaten Virginia was the very same team that barely got by a 4-6 FCS team that lost to Kent State by 40 points a week later. Virginia was better than 1st half Ohio.

I think OHIO had some new schemes and new people playing early on. Loss of talent on the D line and losing two ALL MAC Linebackers was a lot to overcome also.

I’ve seen both....68 and this year....and I would concur.

Extra month practice and bowl experience bode well for next year.

Some lament OLine and RB losses...but fret not...the cupboard is not bare.

We are now reaching a point of absurdity where we are taking away touchdowns from the opposition in order to make a case for easy wins.

Blitz- After Ohio got down 35-7 to UVA in the first half they played much better, but could not quite cut the deficit to under ten in the last half. That is the reason I thought the Cavs were better that day. The defense for the Bobcats improved drastically between the second game and the end of the season. The other games Ohio lost, they were in it and or leading until late in the 4th quarter and the games could have gone either way.

During the last 7 games of the season, the Bobcats were eminently exciting. But among the top 3 Ohio teams?

I'm thinking few if any of us were around to watch the 10-0 1960 Cats. And on the way to compiling a .711 winning pct, Don Peden's teams went undefeated three times.
