Her legacy at Ohio University will be mistreating the best hire she had in her six years in Athens. This football program because of Tim Albin is in the best shape the program has been in 60 years. Most administrators would do everything possible to keep the two time league coach of the year. However, the AD preferred to treat the womens basketball coach with a dreadful record the last four years better than she did the Football Coach who was second to none in MAC winning percentage during his stay in Athens. I have said it before, if Rod McDavis or Duane Nellis was still running Ohio University, this would never have happened.

Have been waiting for this news over the last few months...I always felt she would make any small jump she could.

I bet they just give the job to Deputy AD Amy Dean, although I would imagine she is approaching retirement age.

Good for her. I'm sure it's more money, and these days I think the only way to the top in this industry is to work at a place with money. Thought she did a pretty good job here in what is generally a thankless job.

She saved his ass after his disastrous first year. Forced him to make tough decisions that ultimately helped immensely. He never got over having to take orders from a woman.

I love Coach Solich, but Albin out performed him. The AD didn't hire Solich! No doubt Coach Albin was by far her best hire! What are you smoking? She absolutely didn't want to hire Albin on suggestion of Coach Solich. She was dead wrong and it pained her! A MAC title for first time since late 1960's! Check, Albin accomplished that! Two time coach of the year in league in four seasons! Check done that! The top overall MAC win percentage in his tenure in his four years as head coach at Ohio. Check another accomplishment! Yet she treated him like dirt! She would rather support a lousy womens hoops coach and renew his contract! She would rather support and pay top dollar for the mens hoops coach for his annual 5th/3rd seed finishes! Keep supporting this wonderful AD, who had no idea how to treat and keep the best football coach this university has had the last 60 years! Get back to me in 5 seasons when you see the Bobcats football program win double digit games for three consecutive years. The current administration including the President have made huge blunders, yet many of you support them!

She mistreated Frank Solich?? That surely must be what you meant, because Solich is and was the best coaching here during her tenure at Ohio. Or at anytime in Ohio Football history...

Lot of anger. Might want to find help
Everyday I tend to believe more and more I was told incorrectly about who this is.

It has to be Tim.

Well, this is good news. Cromer was no credit to Ohio University and did more damage than good, IMHO. I don't think she'll be missed. I would support Amy Dean to get the position. She's a good administrator and is an OHIO gal through and through.

Though it pains me, I agree with SBH that Claude Sowle was the worst OHIO prez of the 20th Century and into the 21st Century. There were some dudes back in the 19th Century who were right up there with Sowle. I often summarize Sowle's presidency as making the worst out of a bad situation. Nellis was just kind of meh.

This is a big step up for her. She's fond of the south and is positioned to get a big time AD job in a few years.

Take note, Timmy.

Was just meh. Didn't do much of anything, except polish up her NCAA resume. Was not liked by her employees, and fostered a not-so-good work environment in the ADs office. This information was gathered totally independently of Bobcat1996.

The biggest problem with the “culture” in the athletic department is not the work environment but the fact that half the staff does not live in or close to Athens. Some even live in Cincinnati. Both coaches and staff are living farther and farther away. No one wants to live there. I can’t blame them, but it’s going to be impossible to advance the athletic department like this.

University people have told me cost of living is a factor in the past. Having a walmart in town helps though and you can buy cheap stuff online and have it shipped these days.

The president has said publicly the lack of middle class family housing is a huge problem in Athens.

I do not think that’s the reason people don’t want to live in Athens, though. If you have a family, it lacks basic amenities. If you’re a single person, good luck. It’s a very tough place to live for most people.

That being said, the athletic department is going nowhere with staff three hours away.
