How is it any more cowardly than posting comments and criticism under a handle? It's exactly the same thing. Say it, own it!
Honestly, I don't think cowardly is the right word. I take that back. I think he's just kind of pathetic. And very obsessive.

Imagine if a friend of mine decided to take a new job because he couldn't quite get the salary he wanted at his previous one. And then I posted on a message board 350 times about his old boss being sexist and treating him without dignity.

That would be batsh*t insane, right?

Good point but in the world of message boards and social media, as opposed to the corner bar, that's the world that we've created and currently live in. That may be one of the reasons that the number of regular posters and frequency of posts on this board has greatly declined. It's becoming like a record that has a skip in it and keeps playing a part of the same song over and over again.

Exactly. You made your point. 14 dozen times. We got it. Do we need it 6 times in every post? Do we need to turn a basketball thread into a Julie hates Tim thread? Like I say in response, every single time, he left us. If we fired him, I can see the vitriol. But we didn't. He left us. And in the most cowardly way possible. And we retained 90% of "his" staff, and 95% of "his" roster. We're gonna be okay.

I think I can speak for all when I say - turn the page. He left us. The cupboard isn't bare. We're gonna be okay.

How is this a First Amendment issue, exactly?

Legally, it isn't a first amendment issue since this is a private message board. I think the point was that we should not ban someone's ability to state their opinion just because most people do not agree with it.

I've outlined why I think Bobcat1996 is not acting in good faith, and which of the board's policies he's in violation of. It has nothing to do with whether I agree with his opinion -- it has to do with the fact that he is substantially degrading the quality of this board. There are dozens of threads that have been completely derailed by Bobcat1996 copy and pasting the same thing about Cromer, scheduling, and Boals.

In fact, I do agree with his opinion on Boals, for the most part. During the basketball season I was one the most vocal posters suggesting that Boals' should be on the hot seat, and that we needed to see real progress in this coming season or I think he should lose his job.

The difference between Bobcat1996 and I is that I save that opinion for threads about, you know, basketball. And Jeff Boals' performance. I don't post it everywhere whether relevant or not.

Considering the vote on your original question is 2 to 1 against, I think it's tine to move on.

I'm fine with how the vote turned out. It's not like it was an official vote anyhow, and I didn't actually expect Bobcat1996 to be banned. I am hopeful he's self-aware enough to learn something though. Confident? No. Hopeful? Yes.

I will also say -- again -- that I think Bobcat1996's behavior here is pathetic and ugly, and that it reflects very poorly on the Ohio Athletics community. If it's correct -- as certain folks claim -- that he's involved in NIL fundraising, it's even more embarrassing. Our standards are basically in the gutter.

He would not be banned for stating his opinion (he won't be banned). He would be banned for stating the same opinion over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over on every imaginable thread, whether or not that thread has anything to do with what he is posting.

" But He left us. And in the most cowardly way possible. And we retained 90% of "his" staff, and 95% of "his" roster. We're gonna be okay."

MDWST- this is where you are absolutely incorrect! Coach Albin didn't leave in a cowardly way. Ask your good friend the AD, why he left? If she gives you the truth, she will tell you he was not treated the way Boals and other coaches like Bob Bolden were treated. Of course she won't give you the truth! By the way, how many times have those coaches won MAC coach of the year? I ask you, has Bobcat football program been in a better position than the last three seasons under Albin? You would have to go back to the early 1960's. But hey, go ahead and drink the kool aid she is feeding you. I know better. And by the way, check the current staff. No way is 90% of the 2024 coaching staff still around in Athens. Dead wrong once again! No way is 95% of the roster still in Athens! You better check your facts! You are not even close! I know this is a good ole buddy board where you and your like minded friends agree with everything you post, but you are completely wrong! And for the record, I am not related to Coach Albin. I just appreciate the unprecedented success the Bobcat football program achieved under his tenure, unlike you and the current administration.

He snuck off the bus after winning the MAC Championship and skipped the welcome celebration back in Athens.

And yeah, we know, his dog. That's why he announced to the team that he had a family emergency and had to miss the celebration. Or, wait, he didn't do that. He just bailed without a word. You know, like a very, very brave person does.

Nobody is gonna convince you about the AD. That's fine.

But there's no defending Albin's behavior that night and no rational argument it wasn't cowardly. Even if everything you say is correct and Cromer was emotionally abusive and sexist, and Albin wanted out desperately, there's no rationale for just ghosting the players like that.

And then to try and excuse it because of a sick dog is just sad. Just own the mistake and apologize, and don't throw out silly excuses.

That's cowardly, man. Just is what it is, regardless of whether you think he was treated poorly.

Getting off the bus on the way home from the MAC Championship is not cowardly?? LOL

And "Ohio Head Coach Tim Albin was NOT present for the celebration on College Green amid rumors he’s taken the head coach job at Charlotte"

Though I sense a lot BS in these quotes from Albin, if the statement about salary is to be believed it means that a certain poster has been beating the wrong dead horse.
