Culpepper was before UCF joined MACtion for those few years ... He was late 90s

UCF was in MAC in early 2000s

But yes ... he and Moss were a deadly combo!

Burrow is the coaches son, why not come here. I think Rourke is pretty darn good. I think Burrow is a little better. Phillip Ely transferred to Toledo from Alabama and was highly rated, but Alabam’s starting qb’s are always bad passers with the exception of A.J. McCarron, who was ok. I think Ohio would be a great opportunity for Burrow to showcase his self. Dare I say, the coaches should be able to recruit their own kids. If he decides to go elsewhere than I wish him well . If a coach doesn’t think his kid can succeed at Ohio, than we probably need a new coach. Bshot 44, I get it, I am your way in and this is pay back for last year. I love your posts, we disagreed once or twice, but I catch your drift.

If i coach at Ohio I believe in Ohio. I am all-Ohio and forget everybody else. We are looking to run the table and be great. Texas has stunk for the last decade, heck they lost to a sorry Kansas team that we beat. If I am the coach of Ohio, I am not a hugging another university’s jock strap. We could have ran the table this year.

I personally am looking forward to another Joe to lead the Green & White. He is leading the best team in Pennsylvania to another state championship. I like a coaches son who comes with a winning mentality. He's also surrounded by Notre Dame, Penn State and Iowa signees. If I recall there are some reasonably good high school quarterbacks that came out of the state -- Montana, Marino, Namath, Kelly, Unitas -- to name a few.

And if I had a coach who put the program above his family I would not want him leading our program. Needs to do what is best for his son. As a point of comparison if jimmy was a math genius and his dad was in the math college I would have little respect if he talked his son out if going to MIT so he could come home to Athens. MIT provides a better path. OSU, Texas, Neb provides him a better path. Ohio, Texas Nebraska have all not won a thing recently. If he brings one if them a conference championship which would be seen as the most valuable to his "stock". Which least valuable? It's ok.... We all know the correct answers.

They contend for national titles, they play on national tv, they play in front of 100,000 fans at home, they are almost every team's biggest home game when OSU is on the road, they travel in style, etc. So he'd come to Ohio to play for what, a MAC Championship??? To play on ESPN3, to play on Tuesday nights, to play in front of 15,000-20,000 at home and about 4,000-5,000 actual on the road at some places, to play crappy non-conference schedules, and to bus all over the Midwest for road games? I mean come on. He'll challenge for the #1 spot next year at OSU and if he's beat out he's one injury away from behind the starter. At OHIO STATE. So leave OSU for OU based on all of that? No GD way...

But second, I get tired of talking about players from other schools we want to see at Ohio (see the Malik Zaire saga from last year) over the ones who are actually AT Ohio. They are not invalid. We are in good shape. The question is could we land JB? Is Ohio a good landing spot for JB? I say yes, our offense caters to his skill set. He will get a chance to compete and play. He will also be able to throw the rock. The medi's in all of their fear and awe for other programs will try to censor the question, why not Ohio? Stockholm Syndrome may have played a role in Mr. Belvedere's OSU trip gone wrong. Anyway, if a coaches son does not think that we can coach his son, than what does that have to say about our staff. I love Rourke, Keszei and Mischler. If we don't get JB than that is fine, but to not recruit him is stupid, to not believe that we have a good chance is stupid. To suggest that Texas and Nebraska are better landing places is crazy. Texas and Nebraska have sucked over the last five years. Who's to say that they will get better right away. We had 12 players named to the All-MAC team. JB can help us get great wide receivers. We could conceivably run the table for the next two years. That would probably put JB in the Ohio HOF, (probably won't happen at Nebraska or Texas) and put him a workout away from being a guaranteed draft pick, if he handles his business. Neither Texas nor Nebraska is winning their conference anytime soon.

I'd go to ANY B1G or Big XII school (outside of Kansas) before Ohio if I was Burrow.

You need to stop talking about people, it is Sunday, so I will hold my tongue. Nebraska got beat by northern Illinois and Lincoln is boring. HIS FATHER is a coach for Ohio, his family is in Athens. Some of his former teammates play for Ohio.

And for the second time he will make the right football decision and choose to either stay at OSU or go to somewhere other than Ohio to hone his skills. We will see. Until he is a Bobcat - I'm done caring.

His situation is no different than on the recruiting board when it say "Ohio Interest" - don't care until they commit.

The right football decision is not to stay at OSU or go somewhere in the small thinkers stratosphere. Ithe right football decision is to go to where you can play and lead, Malik Zaire had to find out the hard way, no elite bowl game, no playing time, he is in a sunken place because he went to a so called high place and we were ranked higher than Nebraska texas and Florida before our meltdown.

If Joe is no better than Malik he is not going to sniff the NFL. If he is not good enough to go to Nebraska or Texas and win the job he is not going too sniff the NFL. If that is the case - coming to Athens makes sense. At least he gets to close out his football career where it started and gets to play for his father.

He can play for his dad at Ohio before going to the NFL. Many 1AA and lower division qb's make the nFL, QB's who were supposedly not good enough for Texas or Nebraska. I am about medi'd out for the day. I hope we never play Texas or nebraska, we will have to submit before the game. I am glad Poling came back for his senior year when he could have been a grad transfer.We could have medi'e him to a bigger conference.

It's time for people to move on - he's not coming to Ohio. Also, he's probably not ever playing meaningful minutes at OSU. And, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter. I enjoyed watching a good number of his games in high school. He was a fun player to watch...one of the best out of this area ever.

From a recruiting standpoint, it's clear that he prioritized "name brand" over playing time, and that's up to him. It may have cost him an NFL chance, but it's his choice.
