Watched the opening game of the new league last night.

Some interesting differences in rules with the NFL.

Really like that they are trying for 2 hour games.

Lots of MAC representation.

The only O.U. player I saw was Casey Sayles.

The AAF got a positive review this morning in Profootballtalk.com. I’m curious to see if it becomes successful. Pro football in some form in late Winter/Spring can be a good thing.

Listening to some of the commentary last night, the league wants to be something of a developmental league for the NFL.

Didn't get to watch but hope to see a few games.

If things go a little south quality wise-remember: even bad football is better than no football.

Given the relatively short time these teams have been together, and the need to adjust to somewhat different rules, especially on defense,I would expect the quality of play to improve over the course of the season.

They were talking about the AAF on WFAN this morning.
There doesn't seem to be any question that the NFL is hoping the AAF becomes their developmental league, not only for players, but for officials and rule changes.

It already is their development league for football. All the officials are on the NFL developmental list.

Well I hope this and the G League stick around and provide an option for those who do not like the NCAA model.

I caught most of the Memphis-B'ham game Sunday afternoon. It had the feel of a college bowl game. Legion Field; maybe 25,000 people there. Even though it was only 9-0 after three quarters, it was still entertaining. Luis Perez not only played well (19/33 for 252 yds) but is also an interesting story. Never played high school ball and went to D2 TxA&M Commerce where he starred. Was a UFA with the Rams but didn't make the final cut. Never played a down in the NFL. Now he's living the dream.

The players get 3 year $250,000 no guaranteed contracts with health insurance and education stipends, that’s better than the CFL. https://apple.news/A7HVArg_HT2m6lYiNufnjIA
