Good starting time. After the Bobcats win that will give plenty of time to party a little before the Card-Pirate game that evening.

11 in the morning?

Under normal circumstances, that wouldn’t be ideal but I need to be back in Cleveland the next day for the home opener of the Browns’ Super Bowl season so this works out well for me.

Wait, you do know that the game is this fall, not sometime in the distant future ?

Parlay bet: Bobcats make CFB playoff & Browns make NFL playoffs... what odds do you give me?

About the same odds as if you wanted to bet that the Bobcats will be in the NFL playoffs and the browns will be in the CFB Playoffs

Browns are a wild card team this year. Bobcats are certainly bowl bound. Good year to be a hybrid fan of both. I, for one, can't wait until fall.

I always pray I our get-paid game is later in the afternoon. When my group went to knoxville a few years back we went hard on the town on Friday and by the time we got moving Saturday, we were rushing around.

We are getting older now, so maybe and early evening in Pitt on Friday. Although I doubt it.

An underachieving Power 5 team in a great city to visit within a day's drive for our fans. This should be our blueprint for finding non-conference games every year.

Pitt, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville. This is our people. This should be our target.

Tickets online from various sellers appear to be reasonably priced in the lower level.

How will we know how to get single game tickets for the game through the ADept and sit with other folks in green and white?

I think an early start time can be helpful for the visiting team. We won't have a lot of time to kill sitting around the hotel all day.
Frank seems to do a good job of keeping distractions to a minimum for road games.
At a caravan I mentioned maybe we can sneak up on Pitt as a MAC team on the road. I was told (not by Frank) that we probably can't sneak up on anybody next year. No one will look past their game with Ohio.

I wouldn't classify Lexington or Bloomington as great cities. I still have nightmares of Louisville and Teddy B.

But I agree the Boston College and Northwestern games are great cities. Texas State in 2020 is a short drive from Austin where we have may Ohio alums with an active chapter. Not all of these spots are one days drive.
The tough part is scheduling weak teams and how they become stronger when our game finally rolls around.

I like our non-conference schedule. We could lose to especially Pitt or Marshall but I think those games will really help get us ready for the conference schedule. I think you need at least one game or two in the non-conference that challenges you physically but that you really can win.

Agreed. But also don’t overlook Louisiana. That game’s no gimme.

Going back to the CFN preseason 130 thread, they had Louisiana rated higher than any MAC foe:
