Inspired by the same topic on the Miami board, which otherwise sucks. Home games you watched in person, to be clear.

Football: Marshall 2011
Basketball: Toss-up between Akron in 2013 or George Mason in 2008. I think I'll give the edge to George Mason

Most Marshall games. 2011 was great. The end of the Pitt game was insane. A little off point but there was this one game where the entire student section sang the Bon Jovi song the 110 was playing so loudly that we could barely hear the band over on the old school side.

Also I will always remember the excitement/buzz in the crowd during the first night game with Kareem Wilson running wild all over Akron. (I hope I'm remembering that right.)

Ahh, the Bon Jovi show was 2005 vs Toledo. Also a Friday night game on ESPN2 in front of a big crowd. I was in the press box volunteering for that one. Same with Pitt, so sadly I could not join in on the field storming nor fully experience how loud that was.

I vaguely remember watching this game on TV while I was in high school. Was it snowy?

@shabamon - To be honest I think it got colder as the game went on. I just remember Brinker having a hell of a game and Rob Stover was all over the field that day at SS. Just flying to the hook to flat zone and destroying everything in sight. The good old military days. Lol!

Miami - Homecoming 1992

(It wasn’t the whole game, but definitely loudest ever single moment in Peden during the halftime fight between 110 and Miami football team)

Football is the 2005 Pitt game in Peden. Basketball is the 1986 NIT game against Ohio State in the Convo. Both were experiences to say the least. Go Bobcats!

I agree with most, Pitt 2005. It was the first game I had been to in a few years. I started my season tickets the next season.

Loudest in Peden was my Freshman year and the large rolls of paper on the Hill were changed from Ribs at Ritz to Tits at Ritz.

In the Convo, the moment Jeff Thomas hit the half court shot to tie DePaul at halftime after going down 0-10 to start the game.

I assume it was just as loud for The OSU NIT game, but I was wearing a headset working as the floor engineer for the TV broadcast.

I have attended some large venue football games on the road including Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, NC State and others, but the crowd noise at Penn State was the loudest as I sat with my Dad at Field Level near the PSU student section. It was the last game I ever attended with my Dad.

I glad that you have that happy memory of going with your father to that wonderful Bobcat victory.  I still remember when my wife and I met both you and your father outside the stadium in Detroit. He seemed quite the gentleman, and his son wasn't half-bad either! wink

Seriously, I'll bet he'll looking down with pride when we get that elusive MACC this year!  smiley

It seems to me that sporting events with one's father are just very, very special. I think I've mentioned here before that my very first sports memory is going with my father to a USNA baseball game in the late 1940s. heart

Rhode Island!!! 😂😂

Pitt and it isn't even close. That was the most electric atmosphere I've ever been a part of at a sporting event!

I disagree. We got decent volume on a few early third downs and it seemed to keep up through the first half. May not have been the best but I've heard worse.

Now that I think about it...the OU section at the top corner of Happy Valley produced an impressive volume! If you consider it’s volume up “as a percentage” you could put that right up there. Otherwise it would have to be the ‘83 win over DePaul OT at the Convo.

Football - Pitt 2005

Basketball was either Akron that same year or 06. I remember the crowd being so loud and rowdy that the refs threatened technical fouls right before the half.

The famous "Bullpoop" game. That was 05/06 season.

A home basketball game vs. BGSU back when Antonio Daniels was there. The crowd was over 11,000 and the noise was so deafening it literally hurt my ears.
