Active content management ... it's a lost art among sports bars. But that's a totally separate thread that could last for days.
Because I love thread drift....

This is something that is an art, while also not being all that complicated. The number of sports bars in the Columbus area that are able to pull it off is very, very small in number. And it DRIVES ME CRAZY when I go somewhere and they have 90% of their screens on the same game despite the fact that there are 15 sporting events on at the time. It's an incredible waste of screens and monthly DirecTV costs.
It's infuriating! And you are 1000% right it's an easy solution.

Bar/Restaurant Manager ... each day print out a sheet of paper with every game/time/channel on it. Put them at the bar or beside the TV controllers. It's not rocket science. It's just lazy and in the long run drives out business.

I was at a bar NHL opening night this season less than 1 mile from Nationwide Arena and the bar did NOT have the Blue Jackets game on. It had two TVs with NFL Divisional Rd playoffs on both of them. Pathetic.

I could go on for days about the ineptitude of most places.

I know of a few places that will go to the lengths you refer to - they'll mark the screens that they will show what games on throughout the day on busy days.

More than anything, if you're a bar with 20 screens, most of them side by side, you should NEVER be showing the same game on two screens immediately next to each other. But, as we all know, in Buckeyeville, some bars are this ridiculous. I often avoid going to bars during the football cult's games unless my sole goal is to be social and drink substantial amounts of beer.

I agree with the general comments on sports bars, when my wife and I have been traveling during football or basketball season, and have wanted to watch an OHIO game at sportsbar, we've found some of the employees to be dumber than dirt, with an attitude to match. I remember one place, where I had to the manager to get the OHIO game on a monitor near where we were sitting. The positive exception was TopGolf in Norfolk, Va. They put the game on two monitors near our table, so both my wife and I could see it well, and they did it quickly, seeming to know exactly what channel it was on and how to access it. The waitress then checked back with us every so often not only for additional beer and/or dessert orders, but she seemed somewhat interested in the score, and kind of got into it with us. This was one of our rout games with Rourke & Co. scoring 50+ points.

The parade is too damn early!

Just shift everything an hour later (they will) and all will be fine, there won't be more tailgating, the game will be great, the band (with alums jamming) will be awesome, and the day will be much more convenient.

Can't wait to be there!

Go Cats!
+110
+110 is that much louder than 11!
These go to 11!

I don't want to be a downer, but how bad is it going to look if we have a game that proclaims itself to be the MAC's first-ever mid-week sell-out and it doesn't happen?

I get a bad feeling we're going to be the butt of some jokes on websites and radio shows.

Or do they have a contingency plan where they give away 5,000 seats to schoolchildren to make sure this happens?
I'm not sure where you're coming from here. We're not proclaiming it to be anything. we're just promoting that as a goal.
It has a Jeb Bush “Please clap” vibe to it.

Two questions remain for me: what exactly is Touchdown for Teachers, Oct. 19 v. Kent? and how does one access games on Facebook if one doesn't not have a Facebook account?
I'm fairly sure that you can't. But, you can set up an account, max your privacy settings, and just use it for game watching.

A game on Facebook? Huh?
I watched a couple hoops games on FB last year. Quality was solid, and at least equal to ESPN3/+ in my opinion.

This has got to be lower than being on Buckeye Cable. Couldn't they at least get Google?
Actually, I would contend it's better - Facebook is a global audience. Buckeye Cable obviously is much more limited.
But ABSOLUTELY NOBODY watches Facebook TV, which I presume is Facebook Watch. I seriously doubt that's available in ANY sports bar in the world.
Does any sports bar in the world get ESPN3?

Nope.
It might be part of the CBS package (https://www.conferenceusa.com/news/2018/3/14/Multimedia_R... ). If that's the case, it might be on some over-the-air subchannels (a Channel 28 subchannel is listed as the Columbus affiliate) and some cable channels (TW channel 987 and WOW channel 134 are listed for Columbus). https://watchstadium.com/where-to-watch / Still, the average couch potato won't know where to find it.

Is TV dictating the lack of start time for the Louisiana game?

People planning to go want to know, right? ;-)

(I'm hoping for around 2:00pm, i.e. Bobcat Standard Time on this one)

Actually, lots of bars have ESPN3. They just hook up a computer to the TV. I've requested ESPN3 games many times.
