Interesting story but the author goes a bit overboard using every word he learned in freshman year composition. And "Bobbies?"

Look. I don’t like Bobbies either. But why do we police fandom. If the students are interested, why do we give a shit? It’s not like the helmets say it.

My 18 YO son has been a Bobcat fan his whole life, attending dozens of football/basketball games and always calling OUr teams Bobcats. He's been a freshman at Ohio for less than a month and used Bobbies on the phone today. When I protested, he told me it's a generational thing.

Brian used “Bobbies” in his presser last week.

Tim wore a Roll Bobbies shirt a few years ago.

The university sold Roll Bobbies shirts, I believe.

It’s tongue in cheek. I’ve never heard anyone outside this board get upset with it. I got a dozen ROLL BOBBIES today in Columbus.

Definitely a new gen thing and I'm ok with it. It shows enthusiasm and is catchy IMO. Would rather the future be involved with the culture than not.

I wasn't a huge fan of the OU Oh Yeah chant but its grown on me and I enjoy at this point. These kind of things are what makes college football special and all the historic programs have them.
