How was the crowd ratio? On TV it didn't look worse than 50/50.
If you include all the students on the hill, and all the OHIO fans on the press box side and on the Sook center balcony, I'd say about 35 to 40 percent were WVU fans, but OHIO fans were definitely in the majority.
I was in a section that was pretty WVU heavy but I’d agree. OU fans were louder and the students showed up big time today. I hope even half of them come to the rest of the games and stick around like that

There are some videos and pictures showing the entire stadium during the game and I think we are giving them too much credit. Id say it's closer to 15%, maybe 20% at best. Still impressive though!

Mcafee had a nice tweet about us as well.

Just got home from Athens, feels so good to send them home packing. Credit to OUr students and home crowd. This game was different in a lot of ways, I've never seen the hill that full.

Defense was the difference and we turned it around in a huge way today. What a win and what a day to be a bobcat.

My son was one of many to see their first game today at Peden as an Ohio student. Unlike the other frosh (or at least most of them) he has previously been to dozens of Bobcat football games. So, while he knows better, I can't help but wonder how many first timers came away thinking that what they witnessed today was the norm at Ohio home football games. Not that that is a bad thing.

And did anyone else notice the OUPD, with about 10 minutes left in the game and Ohio clinging to a 7-pt lead, line both end zones as a show of force? I imagine they didn't want a repeat of the students storming the field like they did after the Bobcat overtime victory v. Pitt in 2005. And then you had security circling both goal posts after the game.

Kudos to the athletic department for providing an outstanding experience. Seemed like they mastered the details in preparing for such a large crowd. And I was impressed by the WVU fans' behavior after the game. No rancor whatsoever. Now had it been the Thundering Herd...

After giving up 31 pts in the first half vs Rutgers, the D has given up just 13 pts in the last six quarters. Whatever was said or done at halftime at Rutgers has sure taken hold.

As for the offense, three picks will NOT result in no points next week. In order to have the best chance of not getting embarrassed next week, we'll need better passing choices.

WVU’s crowd was great. This game was great for the region. Appalachian schools should do regional games like this more often. I think Dr. Gonzalez should look into a consortium type arrangement.

A couple things I noticed watching the ESPN highlights after attending in person earlier :

- that missed field goal some others have said was short wasn’t. It missed BARELY wide right, probably long enough for 5 yards back. I thought the same from my vantage point in the stadium and the highlight confirmed it

- I feel a lot better about Parker’s interceptions now. First one he probably should have held onto but the corner made a great read and jumped the pass on a throw he was supposed to let rip immediately after looking away from the tight end. Second one was essentially a punt after trying to make something happen on 4th, and the 3rd one was deflected at the line.

I just hope we learn how to run plays BEFORE the play clock goes to 0 OR the coaching staff learns to call time out from the sideline before the 0 appears!

Other than that… good game and nice win. Definitely worth the trip from Cincinnati with my son.

Home from Athens. Got to Athens a little after 10AM.

Driving through Marietta and using the rest stop along Rt 7 what I would see later started at the rest stop full of Mountaineers and a very friendly greeting from them.

Loved uptown and the WVU fans in all OUr favorite places. All I met and talked to seemed very decent people and voiced their enjoyment of walking the streets of Athens.

The East Green Drive arrangement with the food trucks and various tents was cool. Tailgreat and various parking with the green and white and gold and blue were a sight to behold.

Game was awesome and made many new friends of the WVU fans sitting nearby.

One question, why were sooo many WVU fans sitting in the chair back midfield seats--our big hitters getting fatter by selling their seats? Gonna donate the SeatGeek dollars gained back to the Athletic Department?

Is the field GoMart field or is that Solich guy still the owner of that?

Such a beautiful rendition of "Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Spring" by the 350 strong Mountaineer Band at the halftime and post game band show. Very glad they got to bring their band and see some old fashioned baton twirling and throwing/catching.

Lastly, trying to kill time on first down when 26,000 know the Bobcats are going to go right up the gut, are their any running plays that go outside the tackles like a jet sweep, old fashioned pitch or an option in the play book?

One more thing, the field goal was tipped. Only one bad INT, the other--who cares, it was fourth down and the final one was tipped at the line.

Why wasn't Dellenbach kicking yesterday?

Is there a way to rewatch the game? I can't find it on the ESPN site.

I just keep marveling at how the defensive staff cleaned up so many things and got that inexperienced unit playing like it did a year ago. And, of course, the efforts of those players. This team is going to score, but if the front seven plays like that, this is a special team — even if it starts the season 1-2.

You Tube has a recap that includes most of the important plays.

Going into this as last year you are always concerned about the transfer portal.

Yesterday’s game showed me that this year’s transfers could turn out like last years bunch.

The leftover linebackers have really improved and the 2 starters are wallk-ons who got their schollies this spring. Depth looks great as transfer Hollobaugh came up with to me the play of the game with his interception.

The front 4 linemen got decimated but all the new guys showed up including Dukes at DT and Hermann at DE. I still think Hermann can be special.

We all know that in the middle you need decent players whether it be shortstop in baseball or center in basketball and you worry about the middle when you lose a center like Titsworth. Marinaro looked decent yesterday and put on some good blocks.

Next game with the Buckeyes looks like a loss but who knows.

A win for us is going to be staying healthy.

This 2 time OU grad says GO CATS..

Thanks for the links. As I work at a non-D1 school, have my own team to worry about so these were good recaps.

Too bad we couldn't have punched a couple more TD's in; outgained them by a wide margin. Disappointed that WVU fans -- on-line -- were so confident. They don't have Pat White or Steve Slaton back there! And some weren't complimentary of Navarro (SMH) even after the game.

Doubt a P4 team ever saunter its way into Athens again. KU, ISU, WVU results now stick out like a sore thumb.
