BG takes care of Lafayette 26-7 to start the Eddie George era.

Wyoming is up 3-0 on Akron, in a titanic struggle. It's late in the 4th quarter in the Rubber City.

Buffalo and Miami are down early on the road against their B1G opponents.

Seeing Miami get shut out with only 7 first downs and 117 total yards of Offense makes me happy.

Sure, the same thing might happen when we play Ohio State but Muck Fiami

I'll never understand this. I dislike Miami as much as the next Bobcat fan, but I'll always root for them when they're playing a non-conference opponent. Especially when it's a B10 team.

Bobcat Attack members scored the same amount of points as Akron and Miami combined last night.

Any other team in the MAC sure but Miami...no thanks.

If anyone put money on BG to open their season with a KO return TD for the 2nd year in a row, they made a lot of $$$.

Yeah, No.

When Miami is good, fans who rediscover the school has a football team are the worst. I hope they dont score a point all season.

So far no blowouts against the big 10. Wonder how much NIL has watered down the bad P4 schools and helps elevate better G5 schools? Good G5's are getting talent from transfers coming down for playing time while crappy P4's are losing their best guys for more $$$ and not able to replace them at the same talent level.

Seems to me the only winners in this new world are the Bama's, OSU, Mich, etc.

While the score may not show a blowout the stats certainly do. Look at the two other big ten games last night...Some pretty embarassing numbers. It'll be interesting to see how Miami does against Rutgers next weekend. A good barometer of sorts for Ohio.

Buffalo vs Minnesota
Total Yards - 151 (Buff); 433 (Minn)
Pass Yards - 107 (Buff); 290 (Minn)
Rush Yards - 44 (Buff); 153 (Minn)
First Downs - 8 (Buff); 27 (Minn)

Miami vs Wisconsin
Total Yards - 117 (Miami); 353 (Wisc)
Pass Yards - 83 (Miami); 188 (Wisc)
Rush Yards - 34 (Miami); 165 (Wisc)
First Downs - 7 (Miami); 23 (Wisc)

A good sign for Ohio. I feel like Rutgers is in the same ballpark as Minnesota & Wisconsin, maybe a bit lower but still. Makes me feel a bit better about the end result...minus the defensive struggles.

Yeah I didn't check the stats just scores but that's pretty lopsided, you're right. Still, points matter most and these games were tight until the end. Couple big plays were the difference, similar to our game.

I hope the Rutgers rankings/predictions are accurate, that would make me feel much better after last night.

Solid win for CMU against San Jose State. It wasnt pretty and they almost blew it twice but still got the win.

I believe San Jose St was picked third in the conference.

Why on Earth would Kent host Merrimack at the same time as OSU-Texas?

Remember, last year they lost at home to 1AA LaSalle, They did have 8,847 hardy souls show up to see them beat Merrimack by four (21-17) for their first win in two years.

Other early scores: Purdue 31--BSU 0; UK 24--Toledo 16.

Last night: MSU 23--wmu 6; CMU 16--SJSU 14.

Well, I think after this week OU will be on top of the MAC power rankings. Every team looked like buns. Even the ones that won. Toledo looked decent in the 2nd half, but not better offensively than OU. Parker clearly the best looking QB. Gleason looked okay. Finn looked like he hadn’t played in two years. Same with Drew Pyne. Joey Labas went 5/10 for 50 yards in a win.

We'll have to see how Rutger's defense pans out. We may have lucked out and went against the worst unit of the bunch.

Wisconsin looked good on defense but not so much on offense. Rutgers is better.

And why is it that now that we don't have to play Syracuse, their defense went to crap? They tackle like a high school team. Tennessee was ranked #24 so it's not like Syracuse was getting smoked by a top-5 team.

I have a hard time believing that Rutgers is going to end up being better than Wisconsin. I hope so for OUr case but that just seems crazy to say out loud.

Phil Steele agrees that Rutgers is better than Wisconsin in his preseason analysis. In his power rankings he lists Rutgers as 109.74 and Wisconsin as 109.17. So, it's close. Below that he has UCLA as 106.61; Michigan State, 105.08; Maryland, 100.24; Northwestern, 99.46; and Purdue, 94.57.

By comparison he has OHIO at 99.71, and WVU at 102.29. The closest MAC team to OHIO is Toledo at 99.45.

It’s not that crazy, Rutgers finished better than Wisconsin last season.
