It's time to start the MAC title run to Detroit. Ohio whipped the holy living crap out of Buffalo last year when they were pretty stacked. I don't expect another blowout but I do see Ohio coming away with a win.
Ohio - 37
Buffalo - 24

Hate to put too much emphasis on a conference opener but I think winning this game will determine a run to Detroit for Ohio or not. Especially with NIU coming to town the following week, which is, to me, a 50-50 game.
It would show me that the team has rallied around each other, decided to take the disappointing non-conference slate as a learning experience, put it behind them and focus on a new goal.
There are still plenty of players around who were on the roster when they lost two years ago up there, just a week after wetting the bed against Akron and blowing the MACC appearance. A win in a stadium where they are few and far between would be a great first step in righting the course.
Buffalo will come in with a sense of urgency I imagine after losing to Miami last week. If the Cats cam jump out to say a 14 point lead that could get them down and out.

This is what makes MAC-action so much fun to watch, and yet so frustrating for a single program fan to weather. The Pre-conference games give us little idea of who is going to be up to the task of winning the MAC this year. Ohio should be able to compete, but only God knows who is going to come out victorious from week to week. Here we go for another wild ride in search of a MAC Championship.
