Funniest story ever. Virtual Office bowl!

https://deadspin.com/espn-cancels-bowl-game-sponsorship-d...

If you had the chance to sponsor a bowl game what would you call it?

Maxwell House Bowl. Endless coffee for everyone as a December 26th game. Lol! I would get sued but on well. Lol!

Thanks for posting this. It was indeed funny.

I think the best bowl name ever, has already been taken. And, it was a real bowl, only played one year -- the Salad Bowl. It featured our beloved Miami Redskins against the Arizona State Sun Devils, with the boys from Oxford prevailing. I wonder if there's a banner in the Miami stadium proclaiming them the 1951 victors in the Salad Bowl? Lettuce all be as proud as peanuts about that beeting! But probably there are many that don't carrot at all about it.

I always suspected OCF to be a wolf dressed as a sheep but now we have evidence.

I always suspected you didn’t understand sarcasm when it hit you in the face! ;-)

The title of this thread is incorrect. ESPN did not cancel the New Mexico bowl: they cancelled their agreement with the title sponsor. The bowl itself is still on at this point (ESPN's statement says they're still committed to putting on a quality event for fans)

This is kind of a "who cares" thread. By and large the bowls are a joke from a meaningful competition point of view. Win 6 games and you get a free trip (paid for by taxpayer and student fee dollars) to Disneyland.

Nice.

How about the Ty-D-Bol, to be held in Flushing, NY?

Nuts to that! I love the bowls: one last hurrah of football before 8 months of famine! I usually don't watch them all...but that doesn't mean I don't try!

D-I-T-T-O my friend, D-I-T-T-O! We’re in the minority on the bowls, but I love the bowl season. And lately the bowls have been kind to Ohio, the first MAC team to record a bowl shutout and the holder of the largest margin of victory in a bowl game for a MAC team.

The bowl ratings are x5 to x10 times a MAC regular season game. The one part of the season that ignores the P5/G5 divide but of course its driven by the broadcast windows more than names.

I’m with you guys on this. You can watch what you want, there’s some interesting seldom seen matchups and the games are as meaningful as most of the regular season games IMO.

I love the bowl season. I get to see several different teams play, some good matchups. It is part of the holidays for me. I actually take some time off for it.

The world watches international "friendly" soccer matches. Why not bowl games?
