I know the third quarter was rough, but I am impressed with Albin these days. He was given a lot more adversity than people acknowledge and seems to be finding what works offensively. He is being creative with his goal-line playcalling and is adjusting to the young wr corp's inexperience. I like the increasing Luehrman presence--those guys are reliable. I like how he came out with runs by Rourke on the final drive which drew NIU in for the long pass. You can nitpick some things, but I think he has had an impressive season.

Still some head scratchers in there ... like the 4th & 2 call late in 3Q in a very pivotal moment.
Same with the red zone play calling in 1H vs UB.
I know execution falls on players .. but some of the decision making leaves me puzzled.
But overall ... yes, I would say it has improved over the years.

Offense was good, they could have scored even more with a couple breaks e.g. near misses on third down.
Nathan Rourke is still a treasure. Not sure we have ever had a better QB wear the green and white, at least not in the last 20 years. It's a shame his time here did not coincide with some more complete rosters that we have had in the past.

Agreed with the premise of this thread... Thought Albin did fine on Saturday.
It was mostly the Louisiana game and some of the Buffalo game that have irked me this season so far.

I thought Saturday's game was Rourke's best game running the ball, especially in the second half. It appeared to me that he was running with the thought he didn't want to lose his final homecoming game - running with abandon, breaking tackles, fighting for an extra couple yards on each carry.
