So, UB at EMU gets on ESPNU on a SATURDAY? And, OHIO gets to play Miami on a Wednesday? Something is radically wrong with this picture.

Viewing population of greater Buffalo and greater Detroit vs Guysville and Eaton?

Blame the league office and ESPN for Ohio-Miami not being played on a Saturday. ESPN chooses the best matchups and evidently they prefer the Bobcats and Redhawks on a week night at 8 pm. The league office doesn't care about what fans think as far as the scheduling of football and basketball games.

Substitute "AD's Office" for "league office" and this my wife's constant mantra, especially in November each year. When I told her that some MAC teams were actually playing Saturday games in November, she practically split a gasket. She actually doesn't care whose fault it is, she thinks the whole system stinks, that we should drop out of the OBC, and stop getting season tickets. So far, I've been able to weather that storm. But, it doesn't exactly make for domestic tranquility this time of year.

Whoa, despite spreads of a point or so, both games were blowouts in the first half:
NIU down 38-10 at the half
Beefs are crushing EMU 29-7

It would seem that the first MAC team to be bowl eligible this year will be CMU, picked to finish last, though one voter in the preseason media poll did pick them to win the MACC.

I’m guessing we lost to the worse team in the west and may have beat the best team in the East based on recent game.

Remember, Buffalo lost to Miami because they gave away 4 turnovers. Without those, they would have only 1 MAC loss.

Via Comparative scores method:
Ohio beat Ball State by 13
Ball State beat Toledo by 38
Toledo beat WMU by 7
WMU beat CMU by 16
CMU beat NIU by 38
NIU beat Ohio by 3

Therefore, Ohio is 115 points better than Ohio.

In MACtion this year, anyone (except Akron) can beat anyone else.

That’s why I’m glad Buffalo had no kicker when we played them. They are playing real good football right now. Of course we have to beat Miami to give us a chance, but even then a loss to WMU would put pressure on us in the BG game and who knows what happens up there in the wind and whatever the weather will be. Lots of parity or bad games, maybe both in the MAC, worse than usual I think.

The great irony of that is that Ohio's backup kicker is a true Freshman from Buffalo, NY.
