Come on, Ted. Give a link to the real www.miamihawktalk.com

Oh, that's right. When they lost their server about five years ago, they started working on a new test server to replace it, but never got around to releasing an actual finished product, so they still are "testing".

Miami sucks.

I’m wondering what the attendance (announced or actual) will be for this game. They’re basically giving away tickets-$1.50 and giving a free tuition to a student(good idea I think)-every parent will probably be pushing their kid to attend-if that matters. Don’t want to get into the actual versus announced discussion too much, but it will be interesting to see what happens.
Any forecasts on weather out there yet?
Does being in a significant channel ESPN2 hurt or help?

Colobobcat66- Good question about attendance. The 8 pm ESPN start is not ideal and of course the weather will play a factor in how many Bobcat students are in attendance. The university is doing a promotion for free tuition and other promotions for students, plus $1.50 tickets for fans. That is a step in the right direction. However, I think the administration should also travel to local area schools and try to promote this game, if they really want a good crowd. Take the $1.50 ticket approach and send university reps to local schools within a 50 mile radius of campus.

Channel 10 says it'll be partly cloudy with a high of 50 and a low of 37. Of course that'll likely change 10 or 20 times between now and then.

This game really needs to exceed the 2011 Temple blackout in terms of crowd size and volume.

Game talk. Miami rushes for 124 yards a game and throws for 172 yards per game. This offense is not dynamic. My suggestion is to have at minimum 7 players in the box and someone blitzing all game. Dont give Gabbert anytime to throw.

Miami's defense is keeping them alive right now. Some zone stretch runs, option should open up play action against these guys.

Ohio 38 - Miami 20

I really feel like the Bobcats will show up for this game and really send a message regarding our position in the MACC. I went to Oxford last year, horrible.

Watching in DC this year.

If we had some big time( ?) supporters, they’d just buy all the remaining tickets at 1.50 , call it a sellout and give away the tickets at the game so that anyone who showed up could get a free ticket and get in.

Was in Blowing Rock the past few days and that area is all fired up about their game with Georgia Southern tonight (even the young lady behind the registration desk at our hotel). Granted they are number 20 in the country but football fan bases in the South are a different breed. She knew all about the game and named the opponent. For whatever reason, the man/woman on the street in this part of SE Ohio couldn't tell you that about next Wednesday.

I'm considering making the trip into the city as well. Penn Quarter is a fun place to watch Bobcat games.

NC is more of a basketball state than a football state so they don't have to compete for attention with a football team that's in the national championship conversation year after year. I imagine there's tepid interest in UNC/NCst/Duke/Wake football outside the Triangle. I know it's not right that locals can have little interest in Ohio football, but it's a fact of life. We were in Dunham's in Athens a few weeks ago and they had as much O$U stuff as Ohio stuff, if not more.

Although I haven’t gone through all the old schedules to offer a more thorough opinion, except for games that clinch a division title, I think this may be the most important regular season game in Frank’s coaching career at Ohio. I think so because it’s our rival, they are our main obstacle to an East Division championship, the winner owns the tie breaker, we don’t want to rely on needing help from anyone else and Frank obviously wants a championship. Throw in the only game going on with a TV audience.

Everyone loves a winner. Ohio football is only over .500 because of the last few years with Frank. Nothing really to catch anybody’s attention except school loyalty which only goes so far. The apparent waning interest is making a difference more and more in everything from attendance to lack of discussion about games like this one coming up. Does anyone care anymore?

Just win at a high level and this will happen. If App State were a consistent 8 win team like us and not having the tremendous season they're currently on, would it be the same?

In 2012/2013, everyone in Athens knew who DJ Cooper, Nick Kellogg, and Walter Offutt were.

Might also have something to do with their three national championships.

I feel for you if you were at last year's game. We really played below board and that first half was tragic. I'll be in Athens for this one and if I make it to Lucky's after the game, I'll raise a toast to you to celebrate the win.

I'd love to see this happen, especially the Bobcats blow up Miami to the tune of 5-7 sacks and/or force Miami into a few ill-advised passes that are intercepted.
