For whatever reason Ohio never puts up 60 in these kinds of games when it should. The school record if I am correct is 60 set back in 1968 but 50+ is not terribly uncommon.

and i thought OUr defense wasn't good. BUGS is embarrassing. they are constantly out of position and don't seem to grasp the concept of playing D or tackling.

Look at the empty stands. If I were the MAC commissioner and athletic directors, I would drop these weekday games on TV. It’s a downer all the way around for the fans and players. It can’t be worth it to lose a nice Saturday afternoon crowd atmosphere and all that entails.
Giacomo, you got me thinking about those crowd shots. When we played Miami and had a great crowd at Peden, ESPN was constantly showing the fans in the stands. However when we played Western at home, mercifully they rarely showed the stands. Yet the few times they did, I previously commented that it looked about the same size one would expect for a Saturday morning Athens High JV game.

We are in a Catch 22, you want the country, MAC fans in general, and recruits in particular to see your games, you go along with the dictates of of ESPN's mid-week schedule. You want to play Saturday games in November, forget about any TV coverage.

You seem surprised BG is this bad. Have you not been paying attention all season long, or for the last four years for that matter?

59-24. I didn't think we'd see more than 55 after Rourke putting the ball on the carpet. BG answering us in the first half helped to keep the foot on the pedal. The question is do we score with over a quarter remaining and set that school record? Looks like it with the turnover.

I jokingly said at halftime Nathan might hang 70 on them. I might have to revise that total to 80 with little brother Kurtis leading the charge!

They are not right on TV. 63 points vs. NIU in 1976 was the previous record.

Imagine in the Late 90s or early 2000s and thinking that in 2019 Ohio Bobcat fans would be complaining about a team that puts up almost a 50 piece at Halftime bahahahahahahahha.

Clowns. The Grass is RARELY Greener on the other side.
Yea - be fun to talk to our players and tell them we are not going to change our standard from before they were born bahahahahahahahha. In all seriousness, tonights game does not change the trajectory of the overall program anymore than the Miami game did. Is the grass greener? Not always, but often more than rarely - also depends on how you define the grass. Let's get on the roller coaster.

Hold that thought. 5-6 now and facing the worst MAC team in the finale. Win that one and Frank is in play for a chance to win his 3rd straight bowl game, another possible school record.

I was hoping we'd equal or surpass the all-time OHIO point total of 80, which was in a game against Rio Grande. The score of that game was 80-0. I knew we wouldn't, and as expected Frank put his foot on the brake in 4th Qt., and we ran clock. I actually respect that in Frank. He's a gentleman, and will not run up the score, once the game is in hand. But, I was just hoping late in the game that we'd run a punt back for a TD, or something to get the score to 70. I don't think I ever remember OHIO scoring 70 points in a game in my lifetime.

Disagree.

A 2 win home team vs a 3 win visiting team with no meaning to the home crowd would get few more fans in the seats on a beautiful Saturday then they got tonight.

On the other hand, I was sitting by a roaring fire while watching and fielding texts from Bobcat friends in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin who were all watching the game and enjoyed the running backs having results that were unbelievable.

A Saturday and they are playing golf, raking leaves or shoveling snow and maybe following the score on the web.

Weeknight MACtion is fun. Put an Urban Meyer or Babbers coached BGSU vs Roarke's OHIO with a stout not a sieve defense and a trip to Detroit going to the winner and that place would be rockin.

Correction: The Rio Grande game was the last time we scored 80 points in a game. That was in 1937. The all-time highest score was 89-3 against Wittenberg in 1916.

What’s amazing to me is that they beat Toledo! I know Toledo is down, but that’s still hard to figure.

Jimmy Burrow being interviewed in the booth. Spent a couple days with team at Frank’s invitation. Hmmm.
You guys are bashing Ron, yet ignore the fact he spent time as the DC at much more successful programs than OHIO. Boise State anyone?

I believe he was also the defensive coordinator at Colorado, however, I'm sure he was not running a cover 4 at either place.

So, so, true, my fellow Bobcat. Sadly, with success comes both unrealistic expectations and entitlements. A friend of mine used to drag me to Ohio State Alumni events in Los Angeles, and I was struck by how miserable and depressed some of those folks were when the program, God forbid, dropped a single game -- no matter how close or tightly contested!

Many here are disappointed that they beat Rutgers by only five TDs.

Yeah ... winning the MAC East and maybe one MAC title when you're the prohibitive league favorite is unrealistic expectation.

And yes ... having a coach who has won more games than any coach in MAC history and expect him to play in more than 4 title games in 15 years or maybe, god forbid, win one .... that's crazy talk!

Yep. I'm just an entitled fan.
