ESPN App has our chance of winning set to 37%. Has the makings of a shootout given both teams are mid to lower of the conference in defense and at the top on offense.

WMU leads conf in INT's and we are last with one. I still can't believe how the Fiami game unfolded late. In 3 days my Bobcats choke the season away and my Blue Devils get waxed by Granville.

Three days away from the game and one post (now two) under the game thread. Think the Fiami debacle on the 150th, the most hyped game and energized crowd in years took some of the "give a crap" out of the fan base? Perhaps...

I hope the team pulls off a miracle for once and makes me eat my words.

Western Michigan hasn't won a single road game all season. I look for that trend to continue and for Ohio to remain alive and well in the MACC race.

The Miami game was a gut punch if there ever was one. That's got to be true for the team as well as it obviously is for the fanbase. I hope this team will find a way to regroup and show what they are made of against WMU.

There is no alive and well. We have to win out and Miami has to lose 2 of 3.

OhioBobcat: I was looking over the WMU stat sheet and noticed their away game record and was a little taken back. This could be a good thing in our favor.

I also want to add that it will be interesting to see how our boys react to the Miami loss in this next game as well as the last 2. If they can win these last 3 then they will show me that they have character and resolve to put the past behind them and refocus on the task ahead.

Without the pressure that was riding on the Miami game I’d expect a win vs WMU.

WMU has been lousy on the road but we haven't protected our house well this season either -- 2-3 overall; 1-2 in the MAC. We could actually wind up unbeaten in MAC games on the road but sub-.500 at home.

GAME TIME CHANGE

Due to a forecast of temperatures in the low teens with single-digit wind chills, our Senior Night game against Western Michigan will now kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET from Peden Stadium on ESPN2.

Wow - reminiscent of 2104 senior night vs. NIU. Very cold night - tiny crowd, dude in a cow suit made ESPN by by being "tipped" by one of his buddies and rolling down victory hill.

I was there and I don’t think there were 250 people when the game started.

Yeah, me too. You, I and 248 close friends. Actually was a heck of a game.

The 110 will perform their halftime show to the pressbox side for the 10’s of fans that brave the game. Postgame show is doubtful. Does athletics have extra heater they can loan the band? Those 4+ minute TV timeouts will be particularly hard to sit through this game.

We are 1 point favorites. Could be a good game. I made the weekday trek for Miami, no chance I'll do it for this game given early start, terrible weather, and of course the hangover of the Miami loss / crushed MC championship dreams. I can't imagine much more than 2,000 in physical attendance.

While Vegas has us now as 1.5pt favorites, most experts, i.e.The Post sports guru's, are not supporting our boys in this game.
I would love to see these guru's eat some crow tonight.

This is the kind of game it seems Ohio always wins. It seems the Bobcats usually bounce back from a bad loss to get a surprising win that doesn't matter that much anymore, like the Buffalo win last year.

Post sports editor should cease and desist. Subjecting our freshman basketball players to this kind of public harassment is a form of hazing.

A game of essentially no importance vis a vis making it to Detroit? Yeah, we’ll probably play well. What’s that, it’s the game following our annual dick trip game*? We’ll probably obliterate WMU 57-3. The plot is getting predictable for this point in the season.

* by dick trip game, I’m talking about that game seemingly every year that we just can’t afford to lose, but “hey, that’s alright, we’ve been a better team than [X] all year, so it shouldn’t be an issue.”
This year, we added the wrinkle of finding a way to lost despite outgaining the bas***ds by 100 yards and dominating time of possession

Probably got all buzzed out after last week.

Also, yesterday was a school holiday so I'm sure lots of kids were gone for the long weekend. My son is on Ohio's club swim team. They had a meet at Coastal Carolina on Saturday and spent the last three days in Myrtle Beach.

The thrill is gone. I will watch this game. I will cheer on OUr team. I will root for OUr players. I will do so with less enthusiasm than I have had in many years. Last week, for some reason, wasn't the tipping point. I feel like our non-league play was the difference. I knew after we got blown out by Louisiana that we were going to not win the MAC East. And what is even more sad is that the other day I was thinking of our returnees next year and I counted 8 offensive and 7 defensive starters back with many backups returning as well. But I also thought: No Rourke. No Louie. No Farkas. No Hagan. Same Frank. Same Albin. Same curse. Very sad. I also think that with the energy provided by Boals I feel more energized by him and compare it to Frank. We are just plain stagnant now in football. You can't argue that...I dare you to tell me that we are not stagnant in football and have been for several years now.

I don't know, I might be somewhat bullish on next year's team. I love what Ohio has coming back as far as QBs go. I think as between Rourke, Jr. (I know that's not the younger brother's actual name, I just like using it) and Mischler, Ohio will be fine. I think losing the Joe's from last year's O-line and AJ were bigger losses than losing Rourke will be.
