Its $589,928 base with incentives that take its bonus value to $942,410. What is Frank making then in a typical season? Using the last 4 seasons as a guide this is how it would work out for him in this compensation plan. He actually makes more money by going 7-6 and winning the bowl game than going 8-6 and winning the MAC East.

2016 629,424
2017 663,921
2018 663,921
2019 653,921

Yep winning a bowl game is worth $59K even if we finish 6 and 6. That's some pretty good negotiating.

I was wondering if the assistant's were also given any compensation changes?

Yes, there is a bonus pool but it's very small.

The question is, did they get a raise. Always been a bonus pool for them.

Click on the contract in the link above and the bonuses for assistants for winning a bowl game and the MAC championship are oultined in section 3.4 - $20 K and $35K respectively to be divided between the assistant coaches and football support staff.

. . . meanwhile, o$u asst. football coaches are to split something like $2.5 million after the recently completed season. It's like varsity team v. middle school team and that might be too conservative of a comparison.

Below is from the Buffalo newspaper in October of 2019. Looks like Ohio is near the bottom in total coaching salaries.

“Who is our peer? What is our competition? Where do we fit in with that?” Alnutt said. “In that salary range, we want to be very competitive. What does ‘competitive’ mean? Where does Lance fit on that scale, where does Felisha fit, and where does Jim fit? Where do our Olympic sports fit, too? But it’s also understanding the experience that some of our coaches may bring to the table, or if it’s a relatively new coach. Their salary might not be where it might get to, otherwise, being first-time coaches.”

But when it comes to hiring, Alnutt uses the MAC as a measure for compensation and not the SUNY Division I programs. He also takes into consideration certain variables when determining salary parameters.

To give people an idea on what Ohio and some other opponents spend on the football asst. pool, this info is from the USA Today October of 2019. This is a rough figure, but fairly close.

Ohio $1.069 million
Toledo $1.054 million
Western $1.138 million
Buffalo $1.148 million
Miami $1.1 million
Eastern $1.011 million
Marshall $1.147 million
Texas St. $1.306 million
SD State $1.8 million
Nevada $1.473 million.

And like someone mentioned a year or two ago, Colorado St where former Ohio asst. coach Dave Johnson got hired a few seasons ago, the pool is $1.95 million. Colorado St pays assistants about twice what they make in Athens.
