I would consider that a tentative schedule. With the Coronavirus now spreading rapidly in three more countries, S. Korea, Iran, and Italy, the possibility increases that come Fall there will very few football games, as happened in 1918.

Going O.T. for this post.

I'm working on a project for a company in Japan.

Had a telephone conference with them last Friday.

There is real concern there that they may not be able to hold the
Olympics there next Summer.

They already canceled the Tokyo Marathon, for all but elite runners.
Be interesting to see how many of those runners participate.

The excitement builds for the lack of Saturday home games all across the conference.

Wait. What happened in 2018? Are we talking MAC 2020 football? Are you serious?
If anything gets cancelled, I hope it is that jackass Jolly Roger character and flag.

I don't think so. We had one just two years ago, beating Akron 49-28. I think we'll get the Tuesday before.

Oops, I was a hundred years off. I meant 1918. I fixed it, thanks.

Thanks to LC for sparking this historic topic:

Ohio Bobcats season is shorter. They were typically playing 8 games per season. Somehow, Wittenberg was crowned the Ohio Athletic Conference Champion at 3-0.

1918 (4-0-1 .900)
Coach Frank Gullum
Ohio St. Freshman W 13- 6
Cincinnati T 6- 6
Denison W 7- 0
Camp Sherman W 62- 0
Marietta W 52- 7
140-19

Edit: In 1918, the OAC consisted of the following. Not sure they all participated in football:
Baldwin Wallace
Heidelberg
Mount Union
Ohio Northern
Akron
Case
Denison
Miami
Kenyon
Oberlin
Ohio
Ohio Wesleyan
Western Reserve
Wooster

I may have very well missed it, but I'm glad that the Bobcats don't seem to really embrace or celebrate that effort.

Then again, maybe they have not really scored a significant non-conference win since that became a thing?

As much as I enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean, Pirates of the Great Lakes Basin just doesn't do it for me.

Schedule's out. Nothing too remarkable. We already knew the road games would be tough at Miami, Toledo, Central and Kent. EMU is the homecoming game. A couple travel-friendly games with Toledo and Miami on Saturdays. No short week turnarounds and close with two home games against Buffalo and Akron.

It's 12 games in about 12.7 weeks. Only a half bye to be found. I hope we stay healthy, but this won't help with recovery time.

One thing the MAC got right: putting all major rivalries on October Saturdays.

Essentially, we get 5 weekend home games - assuming you count the after Turkey Day Friday game vs Akron. That's solid.

I have a pull out couch (with memory foam topper!) for anyone who wants to attend the Texas State game. A short drive from Austin and some good BBQ will be highlights of the weekend.

True, but also no short weeks like usual. All games are at least a full week after the previous one.

I'm just happy we get a game in Toledo in early October. I hope a lot of Bobcat fans travel up to our corner of the state for that one

The MAC has three real Saturday games in November: BG-Akron (11/14); BG-EMU (11/21); and WMU-Akron (11/21).

They've done away with the Thursday games on CBSSN. Instead, CBSSN will pick up a Wednesday game on 11/4 and a Tuesday game on 11/10, as well as at least on game on 11/27.
