Didn't agree with the hire then, and shows now.

This feels like a real topsy-turvy kinda year where I'm not sure who will be top of lists at a lot of schools, and I believe more firings are coming.

And we have a coach with NO buyout. Win a couple more, and may not be a reason to hurry and sign a contract. Per reports, it's a contract, with NO years, or no incentives, or buyouts. Some say this is standard, but if it is, what is this such a rare occurrence in the ranks for head coaches.

The days of giving it 2-3 years are long gone. With the NIL, portal, and all this free flowing cash - no one is even waiting a year for someone to turn it around. You either get your recruits in the door today and start winning or we'll find someone else who can.

You think the contract thing is a big deal. I'm curious to hear why. Is there some reason why you're not discussing that in the thread about the contract and instead are making weird, passive aggressive comments? You can -- if you want to -- discuss the points I'm making with me in the thread started to do just that.

Instead, it's "some say this is standard" in a second thread. You make passive aggression an art.

I would push back from this a little bit because UAB plays in the American and not a power conference. The cash isn't there in smaller conferences to make knee jerk reactions when it's not working in year 2 or 3. Dilfer would have gotten more rope if he just wasn't a terrible coach and from what sounds like it, just not a good guy to promote your university.
