This was discussed in the Ball State game thread, and we might as well give this discussion its own thread.

Is it a crazy idea on the surface? Yeah. No doubt.

However, we've noticed the lack of size on our D-Line. Run Defense has been bad.

Andres Dewerk is a big guy. 6'7" and 328 lbs. How about we give this guy something to do? For a couple plays, put him at DT and see what he does. Nobody has anything to lose with this experiment.

Marty Banister, I hope you come across this.

I do not recall the size but it seems we lost in terms of the departing players - Weaver, Rice, Henderson and Doggette. We did get Pius but he has been out. Marty said he was in uniform but would only play in an "emergency" situation. I do not know the criteria for an emergency situation but I would say an 80 yard scoring drive to start the 3rd quarter would be up there.

I dunno. The way our O line was beaten yesterday -- four sacks and six TFLs -- can we afford to make such a move? Our D didn't register a sack but got nine TFLs yesterday.

Not to mention Rhodes got beat on consecutive plays giving up two sacks. Yikers. Thought he was one of our best OL.
