Tied for first after one game. The MAC race has little if any definition at this point. With no divisions it makes it particularly hard to determine who to root for in MAC play. From what I'm seeing this week WMU on the road could be the toughest game for Ohio. I was hoping for a NIU win because the next two weeks they have EMU and Miami and if they can win both of those I could have set up a nice showdown for homecomming with both Ohio and NIU at 4-2 but alas it did not happen.

Toledo of course woke up but will they make the MACC if they only finish 6-2 or worse? They've already been spotted one loss. The conference race is all questions and no answers so far.

With only 8 conference games and teams not playing everybody, it will probably come down to tiebreakers including head to head as the most important. A win against BG is a good start as they’re capable of winning most of their games if they can improve QB play.

I can see it going in the direction. Will that tie-breaker be at 6-2 or 7-1? Could be one 8-0 team and everyone else 5-3. There isn't a feel to the race the same way back when there was divisions.
