I'd rather they pick us last.

A little surprising considering last season was far from perfect.

The pessimist in Me: This always precedes heartbreaking late-season losses that keep the 'Cats out of the MAC Championship game.

The optimist in Me: Didn't we just lose one of the best QBs in school history and no experienced replacement? The team must have some talent.

Looks right to me. Ohio will once again be the best team in the MAC. The only question is, will they prove it. As for QB, the coaches think Kurtis is going to be even better than Nathan. That says a lot.

The Bobcats have talent and depth at WR/RB/TE and a decent OL. The defense should be better. They have to replace a punter, long snapper and kicker. All those guys were very good. I hope the MAC media selects Buffalo or Miami to win the East. As I've said before, probably the only team that can't win the East is Akron. BG should be picked fifth. Hopefully those close losses this past season will turn into wins in 2020.

Ohio was not the best team in the MAC last year.

Kurtis may not be the starting quarterback. CJ Harris (6'4" 210) from West Bloomfield MI was on campus for spring practice and looked good in limited reps.He was recruited by MAC heavyweights and is a dual threat quarterback.

I said in another post 3 - 5 weeks ago that CJ will bring us our first MAC Title. Something about that kid running and throwing gives us the best shot. No knock on Baby Rourke...cuz I love him. But he is a dual threat and that's Bobcat Football since Solich arrived. Dual threat keep LBers honest....pass or throw. Having both of those guys are a blessing though!!!

Glad we're winning the Preseason Vegas poll. Bout like watching Michigan win the AP Preseason Big Ten title every year.

The difference: not a damn thing with losing to follow

We aren't going to win a MACC in any of our life times.

Any projections on 2-deep?

Have any college teams even set foot on the field since January?

I came across another site that has significantly differnt odds:
https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/college-football/confer... /

Buffalo +275; Toledo, Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Miami +600; Ohio +800; Ball State +900; Northern Illinois and Kent State +1200; Eastern Michigan +2500; Bowling Green +10000; Akron +15000.

Here's another where Ohio's odds are in between:
https://www.caesarscasino.com/sports/sports/competition/5...

Buffalo +200; Central Michigan +325; Ohio +500; Western Michigan +650; Toledo +700; Ball State +900; Kent State and Miami +1200; Northern Illinois +1600; Eastern Michigan +4000; Akron +6000; Bowling Green +10000.

The MAC is virtually impossible to predict, so who knows.

UpSan- those first odds look more like what the MAC press will publish in late July. The Bobcats are quite capable of competing for a MAC East title, but have big question marks at QB and key special teams spots.

I am always amazed at how superstitious many on this board have become.

It's not that I'm superstitious, but this is eerily similar to watching Indiana football with my grandpa. You know what's going to happen, you just tune in to see how it's going to happen.

If you can't comprehend that, I'll type it out. Once again, favored to win. We will lose epically to someone we have no business losing to in November that will hose out of the title game, then proceed to lose the next game by a boatload because our guys are "unmotivated." We will have 8 wins, go to a bowl game, win it, and have optimism and be in the same spot again.

Rinse and repeat for short-handers

According to PFF and a story that LC posted Buffalo has four players rated in the MAC PFF top 10. Ohio has zero. The info that Upsan reported has Ohio behind Buffalo, Toledo, Central, Western and Miami. I doubt Ohio will be favored to win the East when the MAC media polls are published later this summer. The East is up for grabs with four teams having a great chance. Hoping the Bobcats can get to at least 6 league wins and see what happens.

Keep in mind that Buffalo has one MAJOR obstacle that it simply can't overcome. Winning in Athens. They try and try and try and try and try, but can't. They came to Athens two years ago with their best team ever since joining the FBS and were destroyed by Ohio, it was a complete @ss kicking. Guess where the UB-OU game is this season? Enough said.

There's going to be a lot of people surprised to see how good Ohio is going to be at the QB position. Nathan Rourke was a damn good one, but the drop-off will be minimal in 2020 and that's not a knock on Rourke, it's a compliment to what Ohio has competing at the position. And they are both young with several years of eligibility ahead of them.

The MAC always is a toss-up. The consensus in the East is that Akron and Bowling Green are going to be terrible. Otherwise, the other four teams have a shot at it.

I hope you are correct OhioBobcat about taking care of business with Buffalo. Miami game is away and the Bobcats need to get back to beating the Redhawks on a regular basis. Miami plays Ball St at home compared to Ohio traveling to Toledo. The other crossover games are the same. I think the Redhawks last played the Rockets in 2011. At least ten seasons will go by without Miami and Toledo playing one another.
